Caribou Coffee — Restaurant in Cottage Grove

I have in the past liked going to this caribou- but now I will drive 20 minutes to go to any other place rather than here.

There is a manager who works the mornings when I come in that I do not recognize from previous months-years. She is rude and abrasive.

I have taken my dog into this caribou and literally all the surrounding ones for years. Literally, at times, almost daily - and every time, the staff was excited and greeted him with a pup cup. The most recent time was apparently the "last" as she said only service dogs were allowed. I said that was interesting and explained my usual experience for again hundreds of other times. I also told her it's odd because usually corporate owned places will have signs that clearly state that, and it was strange they didn't. Again, especially contradicting my usual experience at this very Caribou. I have not brought my dog back since, because I do get if policies change.

However, each time she has been rude, doesn't give greetings, doesn't say you're welcome when I say thank you. And somehow, she is also the only person to consistently mess up my drink order - which is highly suspicious.

There was also an instance where the power had been out at some point either the night or morning of (due to storm) and when I showed up at approx 10:30am the door was locked, but people were inside. A customer let me in because the store manager (same woman as before) and other person would not acknowledge me. Other people had the same issue, and each time, they would mention it to the staff, and they would respond "well we aren't open yet." If you have guests in the store, you are open for business. You should not blatantly ignore the front door and leave it locked and just let customers deal with it. She was rude and dismissive.

I am so disappointed in the Cottage Grove location. 4-5 people behind the counter to help ring, make the coffee and stock yet it takes over 15-20 minutes to get A coffee. And to top it off the online ordering is NEVER on. I was told by management it gets turned OFF at 7am, then back on at 8am. I’ve tried to order online before 7am for that reason and it still is not on. So it’s a lose lose situation for that location. Also, plastic shortage and can’t get an ice water in a plastic cup but IF your a favorite you can get a plastic cup. I was given water in a coffee cup and it broke the bottom of the cup open all over me. Not very happy. I wish the old crew who knew how to work this place and slang out coffee like it’s nothing was still there. I is used to come in every single morning for 6 years straight through all different management and never had a problem until now. Not too sure why. Get it...

This is becoming so unexceptionable! They need to wait a few moments and finish filling the cup with with crafted press. Every time I swing in here this is what my cup looks like. One time I watched them realize I ordered an XL size instead of a large that they put the drink into…. And so they just poured it into an XL cup and added more ice, still leaving inches at the top!! A few other caribous end up with cups that look this way, but most have leaned to wait and fill it further!! Definitely do not recommend getting any type of iced crafted...
