Bella Pizza — Restaurant in Cottage Grove

Pizza is excellent; service is not good. Called for carry out. Was on hold for a good amount of time. Had to tell the person who answered (Tim R was listed on our receipt) THREE times that this was for carry out. Our son uses the same phone number to call from to order but has a different last name, the staff person asked if I was our son and I told him no so even though I gave him MY name and even spelled it for him, when my spouse went to pick up the pizza it had our son's name on it so there was confusion by the staff. Found a hair in one piece which was not ours for sure. Last time we were in we were over charged but got it taken care of but it took a while and held up other people waiting. That time the employee was new and asked for help to correct the problem and one staff girl just said I don't know what to do and walked away. She also was the one who cut our pizzas this time and they were not cut thoroughly. This girl every time we have been there seemed like she had "I could care less about you" attitude. Truly a hidden gem! Lived out in cottage grove for years and have always seen this place but never stopped by until recently. And man I’ve been missing out! Amazing pizza and some incredible unique options for pizza fries! A new favorite for sure! Like many I assume, the location is almost alarmingly secret and almost kinda hidden. A little strip mall behind a ratty hotel, surrounded by empty buildings/abandoned businesses. But friendly service and great recommendations! First visit and the gentleman working the front (unfortunately missed the name) even ran out my pizza while I was waiting (above and beyond service in today’s climate, just the little things). Nice small mom and pop type joint. Clean and presentable inside. I usually get lunch during the week when I’m on my break. The guy and girl working are always very friendly and personable. I’ve called ahead before to make sure there would be fresh pizza by the slice available since I only get a 30 minute break and they’ve even set a couple pieces aside for me one day when I called but suddenly I couldn’t take my break for another 20 minutes due to things at work. But it was nice to get there when I did finally get my break and they still had some “saved” for me packaged and ready to go! The food is fantastic and again the customer service here is top notch!
