We have been with At&T for over 20 years. Our experience at this store has our extended family reconsidering this.
Paul was friendly, but scarcely ever made eye contact, continuously TOLD me what we wanted without answering questions patiently or honestly & was scrolling through his phone nearly the entire time, commenting on how he was ordering Vegan Cheeseburgers from Carls JR,
He went full throttle with high pressure sales techniques without fully addressing any of my questions. He gaslit myself & another customer with definitively false information, and I ended up with a phone and insurance plan I didnt want,
I told him NO to the insurance plan and it was hours on the phone TWICE to cancel it. I told him i needed to check on a used phone and he told me it likely wouldn't work. This is not true, I know from.10+ times that an at&t phone with the same SIM slot will immediately work. I also told him i knew how to setup the phone and preferred to do it myself more than once, and was completely ignored. Paul, you are friendly & skilled at manipulating people who arent sure what they want. I feel taken advantage of and wish I could return this phone, but don't want to step foot in that store again with that guy. I did not expect to be pressured into buying something when I came in to simply look at what was available and regret not having the will to say no and walk away amidst his coercion. I have a hard time believing the positive reviews here saying he was professional, remembering him staring at his phone ane eating a vegan cheeseburger with 0 degrees of humanity, rushing to the sale, and telling me I was misinformed when I confirmed upon leaving that I was not.
This was traumatic and I felt trapped by covert, manipulative, high pressure sales techniques, i know them as I used to sell solar and left because it was unethical to coerce people who simply want information for your...
Read moreMy wife and I have been ATT customers for years. Did I say happy, satisfied customers? I did not! I won't go into all the customer service failures over the years that cost us money and/or were very difficult to fix (in one case, we had to cancel a credit card to get ATT to stop charging it for an account no one seemed to be able to close!!), so when I went into the Cottonwood ATT store to request a simple service, activating a mobile hotspot, I had my doubts. But Cody was the best! Activation of hardware, account set-up, clear explanations, better price than anticipated, badda bing, badda boom! All accounts as expected! Done so quickly, with such good humor and patience! Would give more stars if available! THEN.... We needed to upgrade that account, couldn't do it online, so back to the store I went. Was my last joyful experience a fluke? Dylan remembered me from my previous visit (although he didn't assist me then) and laid out my options, answering all questions in the same personal, effective manner that Cody had. These guys were terrific. We only spend part of the year here, but if I need to make any adjustments at all to our account, I might just drive over to Cottonwood from Palm Springs! They...
Read moreWe went to this store because we were considering upgrading our devices. We were the 3rd people in line and we were perfectly fine with waiting. As we came in, an employee warmly welcomed us and asked what we were in for. We told him what we were there for and he basically skipped over the person in front of us because she was there to troubleshoot a technical issue and not to buy anything. He then proceeded to try and sell us on a new phone but seemed more interested in talking about himself, his Apple Watch, the computer that he just received as a gift from the Jerome Mayor for his “outstanding customer service,” and the football game that was on their in-store TV than clearly answering our questions. When I tried to clarify some of the very confusing aspects of the plan/trade in, he brushed over them, appearing irritated/bothered, then went back to talking about himself and trying to close the deal. At that point I knew we would not be buying anything from this store, and felt it would be best that he go back to helping the lady who he passed over to try and “make a quick sale.” Needless to say, we...
