Harbor Freight — Local services in Council Bluffs

Robert (taller bald guy) refused to show me the size of a box.

I was rudely told: “No, nothing will fit in your SUV,” even though they have never seen my vehicle. I asked if I could look at the box and they said: “no, I can’t show you the box.” They then said I’d have to have a truck.

I own a truck, but still wanted to see the box size, and on the third attempt they said they’d show me a similar size box, but I just left at that point. They were super dismissive and rude. Terrible customer service.

They also lost out on nearly $1000 in sales including other items I had in my cart. 2 seconds of time could’ve avoided me having to be a Karen today. Corporate, the store manager, and district manager will be notified.

Robert is also incompetent at his job. He didn’t even look to see what tickets I had. These boxes would’ve easily fit; below are the images I found online...

This store is 2 hours from me. I took the trip to council bluffs for the sole purpose of visiting this store. I had the choice between council bluffs or Des Moines. Based on Google ratings, I chose this store. I wasn't let down. The store is clean, organized and well stocked. Fairly easy to find as it sits next to Home Depot.

The most memorable part of my experience would have to be the cashier. Her name was Teresa. Through upgrades, sales, and discounts she convinced me to spend more money than I had planned. But for only $40 more, I upgraded from a 10" miter saw to a 12" compound sliding miter saw AND a 27 month extended warranty. There were a few other items she either upgraded for the same price and/or saved me several dollars on. I had to return a miter saw and blade. It was a gift i had bought . It wasnt the one they wanted. So i tried to return it . I discovered that i never got my receipt. They would not credit it back to my card and said they could only give me store credit. I said i can show them my bank transactions on my phone. The manager said that i could have made ten puches to make that anount. I dont even know what that means. He said if i wasnt in their system he couldnt give me cash or credit it tto my crad and then pointed at some information that was on the counter and said thats our police. He also stated the that it is all stores policy not just theirs. I told him he was worng and that i work retail and we do returns all the time if the purchase is done with credit card. Bad customer...
