A Treasure Hunter’s Dream — with One Small Caveat
We recently spent an afternoon exploring Antiques & Stuff in Covington, Georgia, and it truly felt like stepping into a wonderland of stories, styles, and surprises. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by an eclectic mix of vintage charm and modern flair — every aisle filled with carefully curated finds, from timeless furniture to quirky collectibles and home décor pieces that spark instant inspiration.
One of the highlights of our visit was discovering the perfect bookends — something we’ve been searching for quite a while. Not just any bookends, but a pair that truly spoke to us — strong enough to hold our favorite reads on the coffee table, and stylish enough to make a statement. They’re now sitting proudly in our living room, and every time we glance over at them, they bring a little joy and a sense of “finally!”
We also loved how the store is laid out — it’s easy to wander, lose track of time, and fall in love with everything from rustic antiques to newer pieces that blend well in a modern home. Whether you’re decorating a new space or just enjoy the thrill of discovering something unique, Antiques & Stuff is a beautiful stop.
That said, we did notice one thing that gave us pause — a section with stacks of old Playboy magazines prominently out in the open. While we understand that vintage publications are part of the antique world, we feel this particular display wasn’t quite appropriate, especially considering that many families — including those with young children — shop here. A little more discretion in how those items are presented would go a long way toward making the space feel welcoming to all.
Still, we wouldn’t hesitate to return. The selection, the charm, and the joy of finding that perfect piece — like our beloved bookends — far outweigh that one issue. If you're anywhere near Covington and enjoy hunting for treasures big and small, Antiques & Stuff is definitely...
Read moreMy first time going there and I absolutely loved this place. As soon as I came in my Service Friend and I were treated like royalty. The lady immediately offered me a blanket to put down in the cart so my Service Friend could comfortably lay down as I puroosed away. She said they were dog people and they truly made us both feel so welcomed!
My first procurement of the Antique Mall was a box of Chocolate Covered Peanut Brittle and may I say those things are as addictive as any other indulgence and they taste as good as a Snickers Bar. Yep I'm putting them on that level. And what's even more amazing is that they don't make your fingers messy and when you take a bite, crumbs don't go everywhere and they cost $5!!!! Need I say that I ate all but 2 during my casual stroll around the market.
Then I met Ms. Bernice Huff and she had the most beautiful vintage church hats and turn of the century 20th century hand drawn portraits and tin types of Black people far ahead of their time. One was of a black woman finely dressed and whom looked educated and possibly even a businesswoman. This lady was probably a freed slave who found her footing afterwards regardless of being a woman of color and was well ahead of her time. The other was of a black sailor whom possessed a key and it looked to be well prior to WWI. Ms. Bernice was so kind and friendly and I will be going back, because after I devoured almost a whole box of the Chocolate Covered Peanut Brittle; I had to cut my visit short and head home for a soft landing....to put it gently.
But in the immortal words of the Terminator....I'll be back because I took pictures of a few things I must go back and get. And I must get me another box of that Chocolate Covered...
Read moreI love shopping here and can spend hours wandering through the aisles. I buy a lot of albums and unique decor when I visit. The name of the place is very accurate. There are legitimate antique dealers here who think very highly of their pieces. At the same time, there are other vendors selling household items, collectibles, craft supplies, and just about anything you could think of. I have been ripped off here and I have found great deals, just depends on which vendor you buy from. The ladies who work the front desk are usually very friendly and know a lot about what can be found in the building so definitely let them know if you have any questions. Understand that if you stop by and intend to see everything, you will probably be there for a while as it is a big place. The layout is easy to follow for the most part, although you may get a little turned around in the very back. It is absolutely...
