Academy Springs Park — Attraction in Covington

This Park is in a very up scale neighborhood. It's very well maintained. It has 2 ponds. The smaller upper pond runs over beautiful rocks into the larger pond. There are picnic tables around the ponds . There is a beautiful Butterfly Garden that you can though and enjoy the all the beautiful flowers and butterflies. There are no grills to cook out so don't even think about that . Adults have to stay with their kids at all times . This park is very small and the homes are right at the edge of the park. And the police station is about a half a block from the park. Rules of the park are posted and they most be followed at all times . This park is really not...

Basic park, tucked away off the Covington town square. Larger playground for bigger kids is great! The smaller playground isnt great though, just very small and outdated. The large metal slide is "old school" fun. Its big, its hot in the summer sun, and there's a mud puddle at the end! The butterfly garden is always well kept when we visit and the rest of the park is usually well maintained also. We enjoy visiting but its definitely not the best park Newton County...

Great park and filming location for the Vampire Diaries Whitmore College area and the cemetery scene where Isobel takes off her daylight ring and bursts into flames while Elana ( her daughter ) watched. This place was also an all girls school and later they allowed boys in but they tore it down years ago, not sure what year but near the round rock formation you'll see a plaque that explains everything...
