This Kroger is horrible. Not only is it stinky, dirty, and never stocked, many items have expired and are still on the shelf, so you have to check the date on everything. And though there are a few nice employees there, most are rude and very unhelpful. I witnessed an elderly couple asking about the price of a package of bottled water. The employee they asked told them she didn't know and kept on stocking. That's just one of many times.

Once a female employee and a customer were blocking the aisle while the dude (who was way too old for her by the way) was trying to get her digits and find out what club she goes to. Clearly, they could see me and five others behind me trying to get by but they never even took the hook up to the side.

A day or so ago, I ran in to get a few things and as usual it was packed with people trying to get through the tiny, overcrowded aisles. An employee was cleaning up a broken wine bottle (probably because there isn't enough room to go by the display without knocking something off if it), and she was so rude to me and others trying to get by. She said curtly: Y'all know you can go around, right? Well, no we can't because the other way around was blocked and nobody but toddlers and anorexics can get through the plant aisles so it was the only way through.

Months ago, I placed an order for a sheet cake for a party and a few days before I was to pick it up, I thought maybe I should call because it is Kroger and they are a hot mess. I called and the woman told me they didn't have the supplies to make the cake, which is fine. This happens. However, no one even called to let me know so I went to Ingles and they made one for me and called me when it was done. There are countless other reasons I detest this store. All I can say is the Publix is opening in four days, and...

Came back and edited my 5 star review down to a 2 star. The service here gets worse and worse as they upgrade the store. I'm not sure why Covington chooses this as the "go to" in my area because it's really hard to move around in the store with all the displays and crowd. 1 working cashier with a huge crowd? I'm not doing self check out with a ton of veg I need to weigh and figure out. I was just wanting groceries from the store and not a part time job. I guess it's a great thing all the groceries are so cheap (thick sarcasm.) Avoid this store if you can and try Ingles. Ingles might not look like much but at least their service is really good and you can navigate the isles without saying excuse me and sorry a million times. I walked away from a full cart of groceries after 2 checkout clerks said they were closed when I walked up to them. The opaque lights above the registered are lit so dimly you can't tell if the register is open or closed. You have a huge crowd Kroger out of tradition and your other two stores near by are twice as big and more modern. I'd reconsider the management of this one. I'll only be back for things that only your store has and will be doing the rest of my shopping at Ingles or at the Kroger on Brown Bridge Road and Hwy...

Disappointed at Kroger Today

Today I visited the Kroger located at 3139 Highway 278 NE, Covington, GA 30014. I’m currently recovering from surgery and have been placed on strict restrictions—not to lift my arms above my head and not to pick up anything heavier than a gallon of milk.

While shopping, I politely asked one of the Kroger workers if he could help me by putting two cases of water into my cart. His response was: “So you can’t lift the water? So what you gonna do when you get home?”

I was taken aback. His tone lacked empathy and made me feel like I was a burden for simply needing help. I needed assistance two more times and went to customer service, only to have them send the same employee back to assist me—who then made it clear he didn’t work in that department and seemed bothered.

At that point, I ended up asking another shopper for help. Honestly, I was so frustrated and hurt by how I was treated that I decided to just check out with what was already in my buggy and leave, even though there were a few more items I really needed.

Recovering from surgery is hard enough. I didn’t expect to feel dismissed and judged for needing help with something simple. I hope Kroger takes this feedback seriously—kindness and empathy...

I don't what made me think that this store had maybe gotten better since last year. Store is lacking in stocked items, employees act like they dont care. It appears to have lack of training or just poorly educated employees on manners, self respect and respect for others. Today was my first time visiting in about 8 months and it hasn't improved one bit. This is my last time for this store. I'll pay higher prices and take my business elsewhere. Horrible store. Employees seem to thing collecting the shopping carts is a perfect time to still time from the company while using their cell phones.

This is a great Kroger. They have hot food that is prepared in front of you, this not the deli but hot food service when you first walk in. The store is clean, brightly lit and very spacious. I have been to other Kroger which have had very dim lighting so it hard to even see items on the lower shelf. The fresh produce was clean and all the vegetables and fruits were nice and not over ripe. I have a great wine selection area and there check out lines are fast and not cluttered. This location I would recommend to anyone passing through Covington GA.

Second time in about three weeks that I have been in Kroger's Newton Plaza and displays showed one price and when I get to the register it rings up another. Upon closer inspection they have the same product on the display but different brands. Many times people do not know they paid more than they expected because they "assumed" the price was for everything on the display. In the words of Gomer Pyle, "Shame, shame shame!
