The manager took our order over the phone. My wife mistakingly called the wrong el charro which is what led us to this one, versus the one by zaxbys and nitro. I picked up the order and headed home. My wife unpacks the food and both orders are wrong. I get dressed and return to the restaurant. The lady at the counter unpacks the orders to "verify" my truthfulness then without saying anything goes off to get the manager. The manager comes out and seems agitated and again i show them the receipt as well as the food. He refused to give me a refund. Stated he could make one of the orders again but not the other or my wife could come and he could give her the money... After a brief discussion at his office he states "in spanish" call the police. I walked outside and two police cars come up.. the officer steps out and says "are you causing trouble inside" long story short the manager said i raised my voice, i did... Cursed him, i did not, and took a swing at him, i did not... I was arrested and spent the night in jail.. 26 year active duty army, 6 deployments.. guess my skin color? My wife arrived as the police were taking me away. She went inside and within 30 seconds the lady at the register handed my wife the cash and said your husband has...

Disappointed at El Charro: A Call for Quality Over Price

This visit to El Charro was a trip down memory lane...unfortunately, it ended in disappointment. While the prices remain reasonable, the quality of the food has fallen short of what I remembered.

My Combo 13, with a burrito, enchilada, and tamale, was a let down. The ground beef filling was excessively salty, making it almost inedible. The tomato sauce had an unpleasant acidity that lingered after each bite. The tamale, the biggest offender, was rock-hard in texture, as if it had been reheated from a previously cooked state and left to dry out. Honestly, it was the worst tamale I've ever had. The overall impression was that the food might have been reheated in a microwave before serving, which sacrifices freshness and flavor.

A message to El Charro Management: Low prices are certainly attractive, but they shouldn't come at the expense of fresh, flavorful food. Diners have plenty of Mexican restaurant options in the area, and sacrificing quality could lead to lost customers. I urge you to revisit your food preparation practices and ensure you're offering the delicious meals that El Charro was...

I ordered chicken fajita nachos and they charged me for steak and gave me steak. (One they put too many item in bag and it fell. Everything slide to the side of the containers and she only replaced the salsa and a new bag) I called to let them know what happened with my nachos. I was told to bring my receipt and come in. When I arrived the manager asked me where the food was (otp not with her, I was told to only bring the receipt) the cashier atp is telling the manager in Spanish that I asked for Steak and not chicken.. she begin having an attitude with me for her ringing it up wrong and now the manager is telling me next time bring in my food and that the cashier said I order steak and not chicken (I understand Spanish but they didn't know that) wtbs I will never eat here again... The chips were cold, the meat had no flavor as well as the cheese sauce. The flautas were dry and tasteless. I rated a 1 for my experience because a zero...

Both locations have gone way done hill. They charging the same high prices & shorting the amount of food that they use to serve & shorting is a understatement. Smaller bowls of dip. We use to have left overs & we liked that for a nightly snack but now your lucky if you even get full. It's a shame they use to be a really good resturant, but after our latest visit to this particular location we will not be going back 😞 This was one of the dinner plates without one bite taken out of it we scraped it all together & that's all we got. Hey but on a good note the sweet tea was awesome👍🏻

I had a stop over in Covington, and after a zealous local recommended me this place with passion, I went to try it. Service was great, place looked very decent and the crowd chilled. The chips and salsa were really on point, this happens to be my litmus test for any mexican restaurant. You got the salsa and chips right - we are talking. I ordered Chicken dish and it came out perfectly - not too soggy, not too burnt, just the right amount of roast! I am visiting this place again on my next trip.
