My sister in law and I came here for dinner before going to someone's house 15 minutes away (which we could not be late for). We arrived two hours ahead of time to allow for typical busy restaurant delays. The restaurant itself is nice - very large and aesthetically pleasing. Our server took our food order, and we never saw him again. We got our food in an okay amount of time, but it was pretty sub-par. I got the black bean burger, and it looked like it came pre-packaged and they just heated it up there. The toppings were good. My SIL got a regular hamburger and she mentioned the burger itself was pretty bland. The fries were okay -- hot, but again, bland. Our biggest issue here was the service. The host was extremely nice, and our server was pretty nice when he took our order, but he literally never came back to our table! We finished eating and waited for him to bring the bill or at the very least check on us, but it never happened. We finally spotted him waiting other tables, and tried to get his attention multiple times, but he never glanced our way. Finally my SIL had to get up to go to the front to see if we could get our check, because at this point we had 10 minutes to pay and leave. There was a different server at the front who seemed irritated that my SIL came up to ask for the check. Before my SIL could even say what she came up for, the server snapped, "I'm bringing your check," so they knew we were sitting there forever waiting? Idk, unfortunate...
Read morePleasantly surprised by the Turn Club. Our neighbor recommended and I was skeptical. TTC is located in the old Quaker Steak and Lube in Cranberry. Not much to look at on the outside. Without a recommendation I probably wouldn’t have even tried. I’m not a golfer but I am an eater! I ordered Penne in Vodka sauce with chicken. Penne was done to perfection and the sauce was very tasty. The only thing I didn’t like was that the chicken was shredded and mixed into the sauce. I prefer a chargrilled chicken breast sliced on top of the pasta. That’s a personal preference, the dish was still very good. Hubby had a BLT,that he said was very good, accompanied by seasoned shoestring fries. Son had the Gorgonzola pasta. Also, very good. Not overpowered by a Gorgonzola/blue cheese taste. The finale, a cast iron brownie. Fresh, warm, gooey, with a scoop of gelato and chocolate sauce. Could have used more chocolate sauce. A hot fudge sundae sauce instead of Hershey syrup sauce , walnuts, and whipped topping would have taken this dessert over the top. Will be going...
Read moreThe food was good. We had the Buffalo Hot wings and I always ask that they be cooked less considering they typically will cook them completely the first time and then cook them a second time again for about the same amount of time and then just get so dry. They weren't bad but they were sweet almost like a barbecue sauce and didn't like that when ordering Buffalo sauce. Turn club was good and had a lot of meat and flavor but you should really use the thinner cuts of bread not the Texas toast because it's typically a triple Decker or 3 slices of bread. Literally could not even open my mouth that big LOL. The biggest turn off to me in most restaurants is when they play country music. I hate country music and probably will not go back just for that reason. I didn't get that was the theme of the restaurant. We also asked for the fries to be fresh out of the fryer and no parmesan if it was on the fries but they didn't have any herbs or salt on them either...
