We ate at this location on a Saturday evening . We are not from the Pittsburgh area and this was our first visit to a Primanti Brothers restaurant. We were not impressed. There were four of us and only one of us was satisfied with our food.
My son ordered the chicken sandwich and it was good, but did not like the flavor of his fries. I was not super hungry and just had the zucchini planks, which I enjoyed.
My husband and my oldest son did not enjoy their food at all, and they are the least choosy eaters in our family. My husband wanted to try one of the classic sandwiches that Primanti Brothers is known for (he got the angus beef). It was greasy and almost flavorless. The coleslaw had a smidgen of flavor and that was the extent of it. My other son ordered the loaded cheesesteak fries featured on the table tent. When the food was brought out and I saw those fries, I almost laughed. Sorry to be critical, but I’m not sure when I’ve seen such a poor food presentation. You would think they would attempt to make it more visually appealing, especially when the menu item is pictured on the table. One glop of thick looking cheese (I’m not even going to call it sauce) in the center of a pile of quite soggy fries, with no peppers or onions to be seen (a few of them turned out to be buried under the fries and were overcooked).
We also did not have great service. Our waitress was friendly, but the service was slow for how empty the restaurant was. Also, we had to remind the waitress multiple times on simple requests like bringing ketchup, the check, a to-go box for my zucchini, etc.
The next time I’m in the area, I might consider giving this restaurant another chance, if given the option of going to the original location, but it would be a hard sell to the rest of my family. And with all of the other options, I...
Read moreThis absolutely was the worst dining experience I have ever had. We arrived around 5:45 and did not leave until 8:00 without eating food. Our food took an hour and a half to get out, and every single item that came out was freezing cold. We did not get any appetizers until the rest of our food came out, and some of the food came out way later which was also cold. The waitress did not get our drinks right, our cups were dirty, and when we asked for our drinks in the bottle the waitress told us “it was safer that way”. When we asked for the manager, she was not apologetic at all, and could not have cared less. She made us pay for our dirty drinks, which took another 30 minutes to bring us the check for a couple of drinks. When we asked why the food was so cold they just told us that they had multiple parties, but we called ahead to let them know there would be 16 of us (a few being small children) and they did not inform us that they would not be able to serve us properly. That is no excuse, if you can’t take in that many tables then simply let us know that you are short staffed and can’t serve another table properly. It would have been fine if they were even remotely apologetic, but the manager (woman with blonde hair) truly could not have cared less. I will absolutely will not be returning here due to the blonde hair manager. She was very rude and did not care that we waited 2 hours for freezing cold food. I would highly not recommend coming here unless you wanted to be treated poorly when you get upset over cold chicken, fries, sandwiches, EVERYTHNG, dirty cups, the beer tasted watered down, it took an hour and a half for the food to come out, and another half an hour to pay for a few drinks. I never write reviews, but this truly was the worst experience I have ever had in the...
Read moreStopped in for dinner to celebrate a birthday with family. The waitress, although pleasant, was extremely slow and continuously apologized to our table stating that she was "drowning" every time she forgot something, took too long to return, messed up the drink order, brought out the wrong food, etc. I have a lot of patience typically for those kinds of situations and don't complain too much but when everything is wrong right from the start it gets a little upsetting. I ordered a fried chicken salad that was supposed to be "tossed" in garlic parm sauce with ranch dressing and 17" white pizza to share. There was someone else who ordered a fried chicken salad with no corn and fries on the side. The salads came out and both of them had fries on them, hers had corn, mine didn't and the the garlic parm sauce was on the side. The pizza was set down and it was a plain red pizza with cheese. When I brought it to her attention, I asked, "is this the white pizza I ordered?" she said I put it in correctly they just made it different by accident, so the guy helping her bring the food to the table picked the pizza back up off the table and took it to the back. Our bill, for just 3 of us, was over $60. My issue is that for waiting for over an hour for our food and it being completely wrong, nothing was even done other than me waiting longer to have the correct pizza made because they didn't make it right the first time and I ate my salad the way it was. I don't care when things happen, but when a manager doesn't come and try to adjust my bill for the inconvenience, or even at least apologize, I am definitely not impressed and will not be back. The last time I was at a primanti my experience wasn't a good one either so I feel that this is just confirming that this is not a place I...
