I was incredibly excited to purchase from Air & Anchor, finally ordering a 14kt Gold necklace set and charms during their anniversary sale in May. The brand's marketing promised high-quality, durable "water and sweat proof" and "tarnish free" jewelry. Unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived.
Product Quality Issues Within three months of regular wearāand being careful to remove it for sleep, swimming, and workoutsāthe "14kt gold" necklace and charms began to noticeably tarnish and fade. The finish was clearly wearing off, which was a huge disappointment, especially given the price and the company's specific claims of durability. I have much cheaper pieces that have held up significantly better.
A Deeply Flawed "Resolution" Process I contacted customer service in August with photos of the defective items. While they responded and offered an "even exchange," this is where the customer experience completely fell apart. Paying for Their Mistake: First, I was informed that I would have to pay for all shipping. This included the cost to mail the defective item back to them, as well as a separate $4.99 invoice they would send to cover the shipping for the new replacement item. Charging a customer to fix a quality control issue is already a poor policy. Lost Return & Lack of Accountability: I paid and shipped the necklace back as instructed. A week later, I received an email from their returns department claiming they had received an empty package. I packaged the item myself and am 100% certain the necklace was in it. The package they received showed no signs of tampering, yet the item was gone. Instead of taking responsibility for their receiving process, the company's response was to ask me to "double check around to see if you still have the necklace," essentially implying I had lied or was mistaken. No Resolution or Follow-Up: After I insisted I had sent it, the company went completely silent. I had to follow up myself over a month later to ask for an update. Their response on was simply that they never found the necklace and would "speak with a supervisor." It has now been another month with no contact and no resolution. I am out my original purchase price of over $160, I am out the money I paid to return their defective product, and I have no necklace to show for it.
I understand that this is a small business and the supply chain and return process is a complex one especially today but given the amount of marketing surrounding this brand through direct and influencer ads, the quality and customer service should match. My experience has been a complete failure of both product quality and customer service. I cannot in good conscience recommend Air &...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I purchased matching permanent forever bracelets from this shop less than 2 months ago, right before our wedding. $65 EACH bracelet, which is essentially a chain with a welded link. The employee informed us that we had lifetime warranty on the bracelets, if it falls off and we still have the chain, the rewelding would be free of charge. If we lose it, we would have to repurchase. Makes sense.
In the 2 months that have passed, my husbands bracelet has fallen off 2 times, causing him to lose his in the ocean the second time. His rewelding the first time around was free. Mine fell off last week.
We went back to the store today to repurchase a new bracelet for him because it's special to us and get mine welded back onto my wrist. At no point in time did anyone inform us that their policy has changed and that they now have a $10 rewelding fee. They did not inform us that I was being charged the $10 until after I paid. When I questioned line item on the receipt, the employee rudely just pointed out that "it's on the sign". I questioned why they would've told us about this warranty at original purchase and we were told, this free rewelding policy never existed. THIS IRKS ME. Whatever it's $10, but I brought my physical paperwork from original purchase and it should be honored. It's a little circle that holds the chain together that their employees welded poorly. I even invested in the sterling silver because it was advertised as more durable. We paid another $65 for a new bracelet because the original "permanent bracelet" didn't even last 2 months!!!!!
If this was quality permanent jewelry, we would not be having this experience with all the rewelding.
This company should not advertise their jewelery as permanent if the quality is this poor and keeps falling off. Being greeted with unempathetic poor customer service makes this a 1 star location. Disappointing.
I was truly excited to find a permanent jewelery store in Rhode Island and had every intention of coming back with friends. With my experience, I will NEVER give this business anymore money and I WILL highly advise to anyone looking for permanent jewelry to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBad in every way. Bought the eye of truth necklace with a beautiful dark blue stone in the center. Within two weeks, the āstoneā had faded to a light turquoise. After slow response from customer support, they said this was strange and had never happened before. They gave me a different one - same exact thing happened. Then when I asked to replace it with a different charm without a stone (that I didnāt even like as much as the first btw) they charged me the difference. I tried to write a review on their website for the eye of truth charm so that others would know itās an imitation stone (for a $156 necklace which is crazy). My review is nowhere to be found, making it clear that they only post the positive reviews on their site. Then they emailed right after to let me know they are sending me an eye of truth charm with a āgenuine sodalite stoneā to āmake it rightā.. validating that the others were in fact cheap imitation stones⦠!?! So they gaslit me, charged me extra for their cheap product, and disappeared my review from their website. Sketchy and so...
