As a local business owner I would never want anyone to leave my space feeling the way my 70 year old guest and her 18 year old granddaughter did today…This was their first visit to an Anthropologie location & they spent a considerable amount of money while there. As a customer of over 15 years, Anthropologie has always been a welcoming space full of texture and fun, inspiring you to reconsider your personal style - or incorporate layer upon layer of frill and fancy into your home and wardrobe. While in the store this afternoon, after checking out, we proceeded to the front of the gallery where there were glassware pieces and other home goods on display. My guest, who is a paralegal and looking forward to retirement, found a lovely embroidered linen button down and wanted to try it on. Her granddaughter and I stood by while she was playing around unbuttoning it and layering it over her tee & shorts to see how it looked. She balked a bit at the $130 price tag, but what stopped her from getting back in the line for check out was a male employee who was blatantly scowling at us a few feet away. He was so menacing, the young lady we were with asked if we had done something wrong. It was so bizarre and for lack of a better word, gross. She commuted with other staff members to find me the perfect birthday outfit and even left things for me t try on in the fitting room before I even got there AND in record time . I was very happy and thankful for the customer service shown to me at this location. After finding some ceramic owl knobs on clearance, I very happily purchased them and also found out that they were an additional 25% off. My one year old was holding one of the ceramic owls and as we left the store, she dropped it on the pavement, shattering it. I went back to purchase another owl, but took a chance and asked if they would exchange it. And they said yes! There were no problems at all and the two cashiers who helped me were so polite and...
