Schoolhouse Antiques and Collectibles, LLC — Local services in Crest Hill

I went to this place for the first time after reading the reviews and after it was suggested by a couple of people. I am a reseller and I do have a booth in another consignment store in another town but I was looking for something a little bit bigger at a decent price. I understand about the issues people have with the packages having to be turned in or not allowed. I understand both sides of it. The owner is only trying to protect his business, his vendors and his customers. Considering the area that it's in, I don't think that it's an unreasonable request. That being said, I was amazed at the place. So many vendors. So much to look at and the stuff was so helpful and warm and inviting. I signed a new lease on the spot and I can't wait to get moved in!! Please try to consider all of the issues before complaining about the safety and policy about large bags. Are packages being brought in? They are not doing it for the purpose of irritating customers or blaming customers for stealing. They're doing it to protect everybody overall and I can only say that it is honestly a positive thing to have the owner care so much about...

Not sure what to call this place it's definitely not a antique shop and they barley have collectibles it's a bunch of fake items and knockoffs with tons of newer items and over priced items things you would find at garage sales it's a very strange place I'm sure the owner doesn't do well and looses a lot of great vendors and the crappy ones are still there the owner he screwed up he should only except vendors that actually have antiques and collectibles and vintage if I had to guess vendors don't last long there because he is rude and the store doesn't have what the customers want that's antiques and collectibles vintage items if he would fix the problem he would do better and attract the rite people and get more business a huge store like that it should be packed and the parking lot should be full all the time when you drive by the owner isn't doing it right very sad that place with the right vendors should be a gold mine for now don't...

This place is huge so plan on spending a while! My type of place! The staff are always willing to help out if you are looking for something specific, and they probably have it! I have noticed a few reviews that are upset about bringing in backpacks or purses. Do you think this is only about you! It's not personal so why take it that way? I have been in quite a few Antique Malls who have the same policy. I totally understand the reason why they feel they must enforce this rule. Personally, I have always just left my purse in the trunk of my car at this type of establishment. The owner (is by the way) great and personable, so I can see why everyone wants to be his friend but he has to protect his vendors or he won't have a business.
