First, it should be noted that this review is based on an online order from their website, not a specific store. I would think the meat would be the same tho. A co-worker raves about this meat. Always been too expensive to me. Recently my dad saw an ad for a special on their burgers made from ground steak. Normal price is $204 for 20 patties. So $10 apiece. I call that expensive for a 1/3 lb burger. The sale price was $79.99 for the same 20 patties. So down to $4 each. Four each of ground filet, brisket, sirloin, ribeye and chuck. So we ordered it and waited with great anticipation for them to arrive. When they did we opened the first box expecting to see fresh frozen pink meat. They were brown. I'd never seen brown ground patties before. When I freeze ground meat from my local grocery it stays pink. More disappoint came when trying them. Tried the ground ribeye. Tasted nothing like ribeye steak. Tasted like basic hamburger very much like I get at the grocery. Tried the brisket next. Same thing. While I don't think this meat was bad in any way, it certainly was not exceptional in flavor. I am glad we paid only the sale price which really wasn't even acceptable at $4 a 1/3 lb pattie. Had we of paid full price I would have been outraged and tried to get a refund. Based on the average quality of this meat I am not compelled to order anything else from them. It should be noted that this review is based on an online order from their website, not a specific store. I would think the meat would be the same though.
Update:
After seeing my review Omaha Steaks contacted me offering a gift card or refund. They apologized that their product did not meet our expectations. I felt they were very sincere in offering to take care of an...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of Omaha Steaks for years, consistently spending hundreds of dollars on their quality products. However, my recent experience with their loyalty program has left me incredibly disappointed.
While the details on their website do mention a six-month expiration for rewards, I don’t recall ever receiving a notification about it. I recently discovered that all of my points are lost due to this expiration, which feels incredibly frustrating. In a real-world scenario, it’s hard to believe anyone would intentionally let that much value go to waste after investing so much into a brand.
In summary, Omaha Steaks offers great products, but their loyalty program needs serious improvement. I love the quality of the steaks, but I can’t say the same for their customer loyalty approach. I hope they rethink their methods for keeping loyal customers informed...
Read moreDO NOT SHOP HERE! Ordered steaks as a father's day gift for my dad, the steaks got shipped via Fed Ex and promptly lost. No one knows where they went, but needless to say the steaks did not arrive by Father's Day. I had to contact Omaha Steaks 4 times, wasting over an hour of time to finally get my refund (no steaks for dad on Father's Day). They offered me a refund for the steaks at first, but tried not to refund shipping, saying it was MY responsibility to contact Fed Ex and get this (I'll bet that would only take a few more hours to get my shipping refunded). Finally they agreed to refund shipping as well. While I got my money back, it is discouraging to have missed father's day due to their inability to ship the product in a timely fashion ( I ordered it 14 days ago). VERY...
