Crestwood Meats — Local services in Crestwood

Racist and abusive owner - I have shopped here for years and purchased large orders of meats. I receive wonderful customer service from the employees. However, today I experienced the most insulting interruption from the owner (older man). I asked one of the employees if it would be ok to purchase 14 chicken breasts and if they would be kind enough to wrap them individually along with 4 lbs of bacon. An employee responded that it was not a problem and was in the process of packaging my order when the owner noticed and proceeded to yell at his employee in front of several customers and myself. He said that the employee was to do no such thing because I should have called in advance. He said they were too busy, however, there were only three other customers besides me in there at the time and they were already being assisted. I told him I was a regular customer and one that purchases large amounts of their products. He raised his voice at me and replied that I was rude and I was not going to get individually packaged meats because I had not called in advance. It takes a only a couple of minutes to do this. He then became extremely offensive and more insulting towards me. I told him he was the one being rude and this was not an appropriate manner in which to treat his customers, especially if all I was doing was purchasing meats. He continued with his disparaging comments to the point where I had to tell him I was leaving and never coming back. As I was approaching the door to leave, I heard him yell - "Get out!"

I tried this meat market at the recommendation of several people however I found the items I purchased to be less than satisfactory with the exception of the deli roast turkey and country ham. I purchased several bacon wrapped Beef filets which I cooked to medium. A filet should be fork tender however these were so tough you could hardly chew them. I also puchased ground tenderloin burgers which were also cooked to medium. They had a very unpleasant chewy texture which reflects back to the tenderloin that I first spoke of. We also purchased the potato and macaroni salad which both resembled the mass produced tub products you can buy at any grocery. I also had 5 days of GI symptoms after consuming them.
