Although I do love the Red Pepper Deli, there are some issues that bother me. When I order their Mandarin Pecan salad, I have to ask for croutons on the side, otherwise I would not get any even though it clearly states on their menu that that salad contains "homemade croutons." Also, they keep asking me if I want chicken on it and I keep telling them I am vegetarian, and have been for over 50 Plus years. I noticed that they do have on their menu an option to add chicken to a salad. So, why are they asking me. If I wanted it, I would simply ask to add it. I did not care for their Venetian Veggie Panni. It was just not a good combination. I would have like to have seen that Panni with grilled vegetables like red/yellow peppers, red onion, and tomatoes, with some kind of herb sauce, some spinach, using feta cheese instead of mozzarella, which would have contributed to a far better taste. Using ciabatta bread would have added to the taste of the panni. Also, I did not get a pickle with it, which I expected. Yet I would love to order their Supreme Grilled Cheese Panni, but it has bacon on it. Another sandwich I would love to try is their Benedictine Sandwich but it has bacon on it and is listed on their memu as Benedictine and Bacon. It would be nice to see on their menu the Supreme Grilled Cheese Panni with the vegetarian option along with their Benedictine sandwich. Honestly, I am afraid to order either sandwich stressing that I do not eat meat only to get it with the bacon cooked in it, which I would have to throw out. I plan to order their The Valley Veg Wrap. If there were no issues, I would be eating...
Read more3/5 Stars My wife and I visited Red Pepper Deli in Crestwood, KY for the first time. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy, just a steady flow of guests. When it was our turn to order, we weren’t greeted—just met with a blank stare, which felt a little unwelcoming.
After placing our order, a different staff member handled the payment. Our total was $31.01, and I handed her $32. She gave me $1 back, which I added to the tip jar along with a few extra dollars. However, the original staff member who took our order then told me I was short a penny, which was confusing since I was given $1 in change and had already tipped.
The way it was addressed felt unnecessarily rude and left a sour impression. At that point, I honestly considered taking my tip back and suggesting he use that to cover the penny.
On a positive note, the food was enjoyable. I had the Rosa wrap, which was good, and the bacon ranch pasta salad was especially delicious.
While the food quality was solid, our initial interaction really impacted the overall experience. Hopefully, just an off moment, but it did affect...
Read moreWe have been 3 times over the past year since we moved to Crestwood, and each time, our order has been "lost". The first time, we waited 45 mins for a chicken wrap and grilled cheese sandwich. When I finally checked in with the counter, they had lost our order and would put it back in. We finally received our food and a vochure for a free meal. We returned for the second time to use our vochure and waited 40 mins for a to-go order of a single sandwich. This was about 9 months ago. Today my husband convinced me to try again, so my family of 3 went for lunch after church and waited 35 mins for our food. When my husband went to check on our order, they had lost it again. It was not busy, minus the several other tables waiting for their food for an extended period of time. I'm not sure why this place has such positive reviews because we will never go back - it's impossible to be coincidence that our order was always lost. The family behind us was struggling to entertain their 2 kids while waiting 40 mins for their food too. 40 mins for deli sandwiches?! I...
