ALDI — Local services in Cumberland

My latest observation is that the Prices seem to be creeping up. They're not as good as when they first opened. Still better than others but a person should check at other stores. some of their store brands are approaching the cost of name brands..initially I was glad to see Aldi come to lavale it's provided some much needed competition. Now we need a Lidl. Store is pretty good overall but quality can be inconsistent on some items. Fast checkout and I like the quarter shopping cart thing seems to keep the lot free of carts that can drift into your car and damage it. 12/27/20 update..prices continue to rise and produce quality is going downhill. I understand covid problems but ... One thing I find aggravating is aldi will eliminate a reasonably priced popular item and substitute a much higher priced similar item. This seems like a sneaky wm tactic to me. Still shop here but have shifted alot of my business to other markets because the reason i liked aldi in the beginning seems to be...

The fresh produce was amazing and at great prices. However, the problem was the checker. I believe she was trying to be "fast". Therefore, she was throwing produce into the cart. Things such as tomatoes and bananas that will bruise. I told her not to throw the produce but she continued .She threw bread and chips too. I watched her check-out the customer behind us. She threw a large can of coffee on top of their chips, etc. I looked for someone in management but saw no one. I tried to find a phone number for the store, but none is published on the website. Cleanest store around. Awesome prices. Saves me $$$$ and time. Love it. My only gripe is how fast they throw my groceries back in the cart at checkout. I take time to put my heaviest to lightest items up and they get thrown in a heap in the cart like the person's hands are on fire... they take no care at all.. from what I hear the store demands they do it that way because time is everything to them at checkout. How about opening up more checkout lines like you did in the beginning so the cashier can do it properly.. people don't wait so long.....
