Chrome Customs — Local services in Cuyahoga Falls

We were referred to this shop from a friend we know through the car group we drive around with and attend various car shows together. The shop was able to get us in within short notice, which was great. We purchased all new wheels and tires and were put on the same day. My fiancé asked if we could go with slightly wider tires in the back, which the shop responded absolutely and that’s what we decided. When we left we immediately noticed what felt like a “tire knock” and called the shop back that day. The technician stated he was the one who put the tires on and the vehicle has no issues. We even called back and asked to speak to the owner, no return call. A few weeks pass and the sounds/slight jolt forward kept occurring. After talking with a few friends about what happened, they mentioned absolutely never would it be recommended to place a different size tire on the back of our all wheel drive, our vehicle has too much power to have that difference in tire size. We called back and told our situation to the owner Nick, he said he was going to check into a few things and get back to us. We have yet to hear anything. We’re out now 2 tires, and hopefully didn’t do any damage to the vehicle under the tire size guidance from this shop. I have a custom Bourget chopper motorcycle with a 250mm wide rear tire and it's always a big hassle getting tires mounted because the rims are polished aluminum and I don't want them beat up on a regular tire machine and most places tell you out of hand that the rim won't fit on a touch-less machine. I live right near Chrome Customs in Munroe Falls and I drive past there all the time. I know they do mostly cars but it occurred to me today to try them because they specialize in powder-coated rims so I knew they are experienced in mounting tires without damaging the finish on the rims. I called and talked to Nick (owner) who was super cool and said to go ahead and stop down and we could take a look at it. I went down to the shop and with just a little piece of rubber to keep the touch-less machine anti-spin pin from contacting the rim the tire was on in minutes and no chance of damage to the rim! I was of course thrilled…highly recommended!...

Nick and the whole crew are great. Nick replied to my emails very quickly and was able to get me in for a tire mount/balance the same day. He was friendly and professional when I dropped off my wheels and tires. The tech helped me unload and totally understood these wheels are rare, expensive and in pristine condition and assured me he would take good care of them. Most shops would just let them on the concrete floor but he went and got padded mats before setting them down. This is the kind of attention to detail I LOVE to see and is so rare. Loading up was quick and effortless with help from a tech putting the wheels back in my truck. This is my new go-to shop for tire mounting and balancing. Thank you, guys!
