Dined in today during their promotional day and really appreciated how friendly and attentive the staff was. You could tell it was a high-stress environment, but our servers handled it with professionalism and care.
That said, I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as there were a few things that could use improvement.
We ordered the brisket and birria pho, sate pho, and shrimp pho. The birria pho noodles were unfortunately very overcooked and had absorbed so much broth that the soup became thick and starchy, with the noodles blending into the broth. Some of the meat was also extremely tough and dryâalmost like it had been boiled too long.
The sate pho was advertised as having a coconut and peanut broth, which we were really excited for. What we received, though, was a standard beef-based broth with sate(chili oil). The color aloneâa dark, murky brownâindicated that there was no visible sign of coconut milk, which shouldâve at least lightened the broth. When I asked, the server said the coconut was âmixed in but you canât really taste it,â which felt misleading. There was no hint of coconut or bits of peanut throughout the pho at all.
The shrimp pho came out last, after we had to ask about it. We were told it takes the longest, but when it arrived, it was just broth, rice noodles, and boiled shrimp. It felt more like they may have forgotten the order and tried to redirect our attention rather than acknowledge the delay but I'll give them the benefit of doubt.
All in all, I want to commend the staff for their friendliness and give grace for the busy day, but some of the dishes didnât meet expectationsâespecially those with advertised ingredients or flavors that didnât show up in the final product. I hope with time and feedback, they can refine...
Read moreI found out about Pho Hoa through socials, and this is their newest location in the OC. When the pho cravings hit recently, I decided to drop in for a meal.
Looking over the menus, there were plenty of classic Vietnamese food options, including some unique dishes and soups, but I stuck to the lunch special menu. The drinks looked amazing, but I will try one next time.
I ordered the Steak and Brisket Pho lunch and one Summer Roll. As expected, you get a side dish with veggies to add to the pho bowl, which came out pretty quickly and steaming hot. The broth was light yet flavorful and satisfying. The Summer Roll is a classic item that was tasty with the peanut dipping sauce.
The dining area is spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is bright and modern. The staff was kind and attentive throughout the service. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I hope to dine...
