Fourth time in a row I've had a problem with this particular habit. This time I ordered online so I could pick it up and eat outside with my pup. The Santa Barbara Cobb was missing the hard-boiled egg. I spoke with an associate just coming on shift and waited by the door outside with my pup. No one bothered to help me. On my previous visits I've had missing items from my order and the person argued with me even though the items were on my receipt. She even pretended to check the register and said I didn't order the drink. Yes, I tipped when ordering. Check your receipt. Check your order. September 2025 update. I waited a month to come back because I thought it might be a "new crew" issue. The food at the habit is almost always great. No issue with the product. There is a screen at the register now that shows you what they input for your order. That seemed to help with accuracy. Still only four stars because I was missing something from the bag. The customer that came to pickup while I was being helped was also missing something. The interaction was greatly improved this time. I've used all methods of ordering during this time.    Read moreI like the food here. However, it seems to me that at The Habit, cleaning the trays they serve the food in is not in their policy. My tray at this location was again covered in grease and crumbs from the last customer to use it. Even a piece of lettuce was stuck to it in plain sight, dried to the tray, so i know it didn't come from my fresh food. The bathrooms at this one were being cleaned when i was there, and weren't even finished by the time i was ready to wash my hands and leave. There was soapy water all over the floor and just left like that. I needed to use the facility but decided not to since the door was propped open. Another thing, why do the bathrooms at these places always smell as if someone had just smoked inside? Can't your employees go outside to enjoy their smoking? Or who was it?    Read moreI so wanted to love this place after reading several comparisons of Habit Burger vs some of the other burger favorites such as In-N-Out and Five Guys. The first thing that put me off was that as I waited for my take-out order to be prepared, I witnessed what appeared to be the manager go directly from handling cash at the register to bare-handing some onion rings into the deep fry basket. A good washing of the hands seems in order after handling money. Seems that a manager would know this. In terms of food, the robust looking burger lacked in flavor and the bun was so dry that it fell apart. Not half as flavorful as an In-N-Out burger. Had my experience been a little better I'd give it a second chance, but the hygiene factor alone, or lack thereof, will keep me from visiting any more...
