Master Lee is objectively the best taekwondo instructor, coach, and mentor! I’ve been taking lessons from Master Lee for a little over 10 years now (and am now a third-degree black belt), and it really has changed my life. Taekwondo really is great for any age. Especially as a college-student now, I’ve seen how taekwondo’s teachings have helped me develop into a confident, perseverant, and self-reliant young woman, and also how they help keep me grounded as a constantly stressed, much too busy college student. Coming to MLTKD truly is the highlight of my week. Continuing to practice taekwondo for this long really is a testimony to Master Lee as an instructor. Master Lee is beyond an amazing instructor: he is incredibly patient, kind (but don’t worry, he’ll still challenge you plenty in class), knowledgeable, and caring instructor. He truly wants to help each of his students succeed with all of their goals, and he’ll find ways to adjust/accommodate to help everyone. Additionally, Instructor Matthew is also a wonderful teacher, and he has a special gift to lead classes for the young children to the black-belt adults’ class full of energy and challenges. Finally, the community as a whole at MLTKD has always been extremely welcoming and warm. Even though class is serious, and we learn and practice hard, we still always have time to have fun and crack jokes in the midst of training. I recommend MLTKD for anyone! I cannot say enough great things about this school and the people here. My young daughter attends and it has been the one thing she continually looks forward too and is genuinely proud of at 7 yrs old. Master Lee is an amazing, caring teacher who has a gift to see how to reach each child - he is respectful, gentle when needed, but also instills Taekwondo discipline and principles age appropriately. Instructor Matthew as well is caring and you can see the passion for both the sport and its art, and teaching from all the instructors here. I love the skills my daughter is learning both in Taekwondo and life skills - they are to a level of sparring now and she is confident around boys and girls alike, big and small, and I can see that drive sparking in her as she is learning how to work at something. Her younger sister is ready to join when she is older and I myself might carve out the time to join when they are both there.

We also hosted a birthday party here and if you want to see every kid come out of their shell and show pure joy - book it!! No fuss for the parents as the instuctors set up the room as well as cleaned up, and they corralled and led the kids through all kinds of fun and events! I checked out several Taekwondo classes for my daughter who was 10 years old two years back. We selected Master Lee's Academy as it looked very professional and rigorous. I also noticed there were several adults, one of them being my physician colleague at work. He said he had been practicing Taekwondo for more than twenty years under different instructors and said Master Lee was the best he had come across. I ended up joining the Academy along with my daughter in 2019 in my mid-40s. I have enjoyed learning new skills in a systematic, safe and disciplined manner. The lessons are conducted in a moderately rigorous manner depending on your skill level and age ensuring that there are no injuries. Instructor Mathew is a very able assistant to Master Lee and is excellent. Master Lee is a very astute observer and teacher. He makes small tweaks to your techniques that go a long way in making you more effective in your kicks, forms etc. The stretching at the beginning and the physical challenges at the end of each class makes us fit, agile, strong and helps prevent injuries.
