The general pediatric floor that we stayed on when my 10 month old son was admitted to for almost a week was the most unprofessional, sorry excuse of a hospital Iâve ever seen. They were so disorganized. My son was very sick and screaming in pain and they were of absolutely no help. We were there for 4 nights and 5 days. My biggest complaint however was the lack of treatment for my son. The night that we were admitted to the floor, the nurse told me that if he wasnât better by the next morning then we would do a stool sample. Well then the next day came and they wouldnât do it. My 10m old son was there for vomiting, dehydration, low blood sugar, stomach pain, & diarrhea 7-9 times a day. Wouldnât you think a stool sample would be the first thing they did? I told every nurse that came into our room and 3 different doctors that I wanted a stool sample done on my son and they kept saying that it wasnât needed and the doctor kept saying that âeven if we did the test, and he came back positive for something, we wouldnât change his plan of treatment or give antibioticsâ. Are you serious? The only âtreatmentâ they did was give my son constant IV saline fluid for the 5 days we were there, offer gas drops & Tylenol, and give pedialyte. He was getting worse and worse every day. the main doctor we dealt with and she was extremely rude and unprofessional. She kept saying that it would be pointless to run a test on him because she wouldnât treat him regardless. How is that ethical? And during discharge we told her that we just moved to the state of Texas and we were waiting on my sonâs Medicaid application to get approved & finalized before we scheduled with a pediatrician and she got all in my face and was super dramatic and was saying âWHAT???? You donât have a pediatrician??? Is he at least vaccinated??â Thatâs not how you talk to the upset parents of a sick baby. She should have helped us with getting a pediatrician or respected that we were waiting on insurance to get finalized so that we could Schedule a pediatrician appointment. She did not help my son at all. The night before we were discharged my son was screaming in pain and so sick. I went to the nurses station and I demanded my son be tested immediately for a GI infection and they texted the dr and she told us no because she still wouldnât treat him if it came back positive. And I told them that I donât even care at this point, I just wanted answers. I wanted to know why we were on day 4 of being in the hospital but day 11 of my son being so sick. And again, they said no. So my husband went out there and got very stern with the nurses and doctor and finally the order was put in for a stool sample PCR to be done. And right after the order was put in, the nurse came back to our room to once again remind us that if he tests positive then he still wonât be treated. Well we were discharged the next day and the following day I get a call from the nurse saying that my son tested positive for C Diff. and he needed antibiotics asap. Imagine that! The mother was right all along! And the dr kept saying my son just had a stomach virus. But she wouldnât give an official diagnoses or run any tests. The nurse said that she would text the dr and see if she wanted to readmit us to the floor for treatment or just call in a prescription to the pharmacy. Over an hour later and the nurse texts me that the Dr wasnât answering and so a different doctor would be calling me. Well this other Dr called me she called in an antibiotic but it has to be ordered and delivered to the pharmacy . She called every pharmacy in my city and they all said the soonest they could get the drug would be 4 days later. So now we are still waiting on the prescription to be delivered to the pharmacy so my son can get treatment. But if they had tested him the first day in the hospital then he would have been recovered...

This is so overwhelming!! Medical City needs to be regulated more by the city and state municipalities. I have left my phone and information for immediate follow up. No one has reached out as of today at 8:02 am. I will be reaching out to all city ,state and federal municipalities along with other resources. No family or human should have to be exposed to the treatment that we have received from the staff and upper leadership. There has to be quality care given. . We canât leave my family member alone for 1 minute. We have to be there round the clock and checking everything. I will update my post if I receive a phone. I have provided that information to Patient Advocate representative. I would hope all concerns and complaints are handled timely. Which means it would be no need for me to call them, As indicated in the response. I called and reached out to prior to the posted on Google. Prior to the holiday ( 4th of July). Where is leadership? Do you walk your hospital ? ( care facility)
âââââ////////////////// Original postâŹď¸ If I could give this hospital a no stars I would. â ď¸ At every turn we have met the most unprofessional and problematic staff that I have ever experienced. I can start with how my loved one was given an antipsychotic drug with no history of any prior and or current health diagnosis that would lead a reasonable medical professional to prescribe that medication. This had the most negative effect for over 30 hours for my loved one. We are later met with Peyton, floor manager - Savanna, charge nurse- and Andrea, unit secretary. Their professional was not present - non existent. Peyton and all named above are considered public servants for a public hospital. Letâs start with each persons âKarenâ tactics. After being accused of recording at the nurses station ( no signage posted stating this was prohibited) savanna accuses my family member of recording. My family member was not recording. She was on a FaceTime. Shortly after - Peyton comes into the room while a breathing treatment was being administered and wanted to take vitals. Now it can happen however potentially the following can happen â Potential Impact on Readings: Breathing treatments, such as High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) therapy, have been shown to reduce respiratory and heart rates. Also, certain breathing patterns associated with medical conditions can affect the respiratory rateâ Peyton was asked to come back after the breathing treatment. She back upset. Starting bullying my family member who started recording her then and she became aggressive trying take the phone and telling her she needed to delete the recording. When she couldnât make certain the video was deleted from a phone she did not own she called hospital security and lied. She told hospital security that my family member violated Hippa by recording in the hallway. đ WELL THERE WAS NO HALLWAY RECORDING. She had police remove my family member and when asked to speak to everyoneâs boss and to see the written policy - I was told there would be a print out available. I was later advised that Risk management instructed the staff not to give me the print out. Nor could it be read to me. In addition the regulation - rule- policy was not posted, nor was it available not on the website. Now HIPPA state law is something I am very familiar with. The representative from risk management came into the room and started with how short her time was and that she hoped I was not recording at the current moment. She also came in with an attitude like she was going to direct this conversation by making statements. She asked no questions and gave me new policy in writing and did not give her business card for later follow up. I will be filing formal complaints on each person and the integrity of the staff as a whole. There is so much more ! Beware of...
Read moreIf you ever have to go to this hospital hopefully you will not have the patient care technician (African Female maroon scrubs)on 5th floor by the name of Maria. I had the pleasure of meeting her when she walked in my room one morning and was trying to talk to me and every time I would answer her she would just start singing. The first time she done that to me, I didn't think nothing about it but when it happened again the next time she came in my room, I knew right then and there that she was going to be a problem. I was hospitalized on the 5th floor in room 548E, I had a knee replacement about a week before this and then I had to be rushed to the emergency room for a perforated ulcer that I had to have emergency surgery. Needless to say, I had to have Maria come into the restroom to help me wipe my bum and this was the first stool that I had done since my stomach surgery so I had asked her to look at it so she can let the nurse know about it and as soon as I started asking her to please look at my stool so she can tell the nurse that I used the restroom the toilet went off which was very loud so I asked her again to look at my stool so she could let the nurse know that I use the restroom. She then pulled her mask down and told me don't scream at her. I told her I'm not screaming at her that I'm kind of hard of hearing and the toilet went off and it's very loud she again pull down her mask and told me not to scream at her, after she done that she told me that she's not going to be able to help me put the butt wipes down on the sink and walked out and left me on the toilet without even helping me. I then asked for a supervisor over her unfortunately I can't remember supervisor name (should be on file)but she came in and I told her what happened. Needless to say the only thing this supervisor done was reassigned her to a different patient and got me a new care technician. I hope and pray that Maria does not treat every patient like she did me not to mention I hope and pray one day that her family members never need help after two major surgeries and somebody leaves them on the toilet SMH... I heard that this type of behavior is not new to her, unfortunately. Switching her to different patients when she has a mental breakdown like she did, only leads to her treating other patients and family members in a way that should not be tolerated and unprofessional! I will say the 5th floor has some really wonderful nurses and other care technician unfortunately Maria doesn't belong in this category. Not to mention the overnight crew is very loud with nurses screaming down the hall or corridor instead of talking in their quiet voices among themselves in a reasonable amount of footage. Knowing they're in a hospital with sick/dying patients...Not to mention this room in general is very loud due to all types of trucks coming in and out of this area by the window, where all the dumpsters are, trash you name it's out there from about 5:00a and on I heard nothing but trucks/truck air brakes going off/honking, and it's next to a garage that people are honking their car horns. Couldn't get a 4 hr sleep in anywhere on the clock morning, noon or night. So glad to be home. Jessica, Pam, Rena, Agatha, Aaron (ICU), Dr. Nandipati, Brittany my 4am "poke" care technicianđ and Sherica (care technician), I'm sure I'm missing a few names, my apologies, were on point and went above expectations when I was their patient. Thank y'all for taking good care of...
