Our 2yo (27 months) has been at the daycare since 6 mos. and when we started at The Nest the center was new and there were A LOT of growing pains & high turnover but with time and the new Director, Mellissa, things have felt more organized and calm. Teacher have stuck around and it seems they are happy & our little has opened up at school & comes home happy too.
Something to note, this center changes classes A LOT, our little was never in a class more than ~4 months at a time. They structure the classes for each developmental milestone. That was jarring to experience at first, because it felt like so much more change with the high turnover too, he never got the chance to have consistency & we sometimes felt uneasy leaving him there with class sizes and it felt understaffed. When he'd finally get use to a teacher, he'd move up & that was hard on us. He'd regress with sleep and come home so crabby. When we'd express our concerns with class size being over ratio, we would be greeted with "you just don't know chaos" instead of you know what you're right, let us get a teacher in there. It felt like we were being gaslit with our concerns. Mellissa does not respond like this and is so much more professional with our concerns and takes them seriously.
Once the turnover slowed the changes of class finally made sense why they do that. Now he's in the "4th class" and he has had more consistency & his days are scheduled (he knows the routine) and we noticed a difference, he goes into the class happy to be there and is excited to see his teacher. Sometimes he doesn't want to stop playing when we pick him up too. There are still some days that a teacher calls out, but it still doesn't feel chaotic, they move things around cover the class appropriately.
This daycare provides meals & snack and has a diaper program if you don't want to bring your own. What I love most about this school is the kindness aspect. If we need another minute to say goodbye, we can do that. Parents are welcome in the class at any time, they do not push you out like some centers & that makes us feel we are part of the community. Kids all say "hello" to our son when he arrives and we've met some great parents too and that has made the world of difference in our...
Read moreWe could not be happier with our experience at The Nest! From day one, the entire staff has been incredibly warm, attentive, and accommodating. As first-time parents, entrusting someone else with our child’s care was a big step, but the team at The Nest immediately put our minds at ease.
One of the things that has stood out the most is how every staff member knows our child by name. It’s clear that they take the time to get to know each child individually, making them feel safe, valued, and truly at home. Their kindness and patience shine through in everything they do, and we love how engaged and communicative they are. They keep us informed about our child's day, milestones, and any concerns, making us feel like true partners in their care.
The structure of the daycare is fantastic, balancing learning experiences, exploratory play, and rest time in a way that keeps our child happy and engaged. Transitions are handled seamlessly, ensuring a smooth and comforting routine for every child.
It’s clear that The Nest is more than just a daycare; it’s a place where children are genuinely cared for, encouraged, and celebrated. We are so grateful to be part of this wonderful community and highly recommend it to any parent looking for a loving and enriching environment for...
Read moreMy wife and I have been comfortable with this school for so many reasons. We are first time parents, this is our son’s first time in daycare and being watched without us. Therefore WE (smile) & him are doing wonderful! My son is in the Hummingbird class with Ms. Kira & Ms. Bunny’s class. Even when we have to quickly keep moving to head to work, our son may cry for us, but welcoming goes to his teaches. The variety of activities that this school teaches the toddlers is quite impressive. Their portal is perfect and well communicated. Even when my son had a fever, I couldn’t have asked for anything more than what they automatically were trained to do without administering medicine. When I arrived he was comfortable and I was pleased. The Director Ms. Felicia seems to care about her school and can be seen interacting in class, with parents, and holding staff meetings. Never idle. I think we found the school my son will remain in, until it’s time to attend a primary school. My son doesn’t have any food restrictions, but can be a picky eater at 1 yrs.old. However, he seems to enjoy the...
