Just don’t do it. There’s a ton of places, don’t choose this one.
EDIT: In response to the owner's comment: First, it was 20 minutes. I called ahead and was secured a 2:30pm time slot, then upon arrival I was put in a chair and my feet were not even put in water to begin soaking. I'm curious; where in my review did I say I felt my time was more important than anyone else's? What I said in the salon was that I could no longer wait. No one told me when I arrived my appointment time would be pushed 20 minutes. No one told me at any point that they would be with me soon. No one came to me and said "I apologize that you've been waiting so long, we are running behind. We should be with you in 10 minutes, etc." You saw my scrubs; did it occur to you I may have been on my lunch break? Did it occur to you I am in the healthcare field and needed to return to work on time? My negative review is not because I had to wait. You MISSED THE POINT. My negative review is because your customer service was horrendous. But lastly, I want to THANK YOU....because your sarcastic, immature, unprofessional and petty response will show anyone reading this that what I initially wrote is true. You're awful. EDIT #2: Dude… you’re still missing the point. First, I said I was in healthcare. I didn’t say I worked at a doctors office. Why are you asking me about occurrences and your personal wait time at your doctors office lol? This is so absurd. I’m not sure what doctor you go to, but if mine is running behind they usually will at least let me know and apologize. I’m sorry your doctor does not have great etiquette as well. Next, stop saying 15 minutes, 15 minutes. I left 21 minutes after my appointment was set to begin. Also, To address your other question. I saw three separate employees walk back to the room I was in and peak their head in and make eye contact with me and then walk away. So yes, I did see people walking around that knew I was there. Also, let’s not forget the employee that was performing a pedicure one chair away from me, that clearly saw me sitting there for the full 20 minutes with my feet not even wet yet. She could have looked at me at any point and said “I’m sorry you have been waiting ma’am-I’m sure someone will be with you soon.” She even looked at me and made eye contact with me as she watched me put my socks and shoes back on, she could have commented at that point. You seem to think I was upset about there being a wait. I absolutely understand that running 20 minutes behind happens. That’s not the issue you seem to be not understanding. The issue was I was ignored. Of course, I would never expect anyone to stop working on another client to begin working on me. But I have been to nail salons for decades now, and it would not be uncommon for someone to stop working and walk to me and say that they would be with me soon. That is the bare minimum of customer service if you are running behind. But you seem to be missing the deeper point. Even if the entire staff was running behind and not one employee physically had the capacity to let me know there would be a 20 minute wait… This is still falls on your establishment as bad service. If you are so understaffed, or overbooked that a client is allowed to sit for 20 straight minutes without their feet even soaking yet and not one person is able to speak to them or even acknowledge them… This is a failure on behalf of your business. You can argue all day or throw any ignorant comments at me you want but it’s...
Read moreUnfinished nails due to owner, Tan, asking me to leave. On 8/11/19, I went in for Nexgen and gel pedicure on my toes. Around 1:00pm, I lifted up the pillow that my hands were resting on and realized that the pedicurist who had already walked away and started on the next client had used a bright purple instead of the light pink I had chosen. She never asked me if this was the color i picked which is normally a part of the process. Once the lady doing my nails was almost done (15-20 min later) she asked me if I would just keep the purple color on my toes and get the color I wanted the next time. I told her no, I will just pay for the pedicure but not the gel. She told the pedicurist who came over and then called the owner, Tan, over who told asked me to stay and get the gel taken off and reapplied. As you can see in the picture above, the only process remaining on my finger nails was two topcoats which takes MAYBE 5-8 minutes. I told him that wasn’t acceptable because my husband and three year old had already been waiting on me and I knew it would take another 30 minutes. He proceeded to go back and forth with me at which point I told him my husband would come talk to him. When my husband came over and reiterated what I said, he proceeded to try to take pictures of me on his phone, ask us to never come back and then called the police. Instead of accepting the responsibility what his employee did wrong and understanding that the requested service was not performed, he decided to insult us and assume that we just didn’t want to pay. Of course, that wasn’t the case at all and we paid and I tipped the manicurist although she didn’t get to finish my nails. Tan, you have so much to learn. The assumption that I wouldn’t want to pay was so far off from the truth and the disregard for my comfort and time, as a pregnant customer, was extremely off-putting. I apologize for raising my voice and disrupting the experience for any other customers but hopefully the women, that were there, understand my...
Read moreI really like this place, they’re conveniently located, the facility is clean and they do quality work but they nickel and dime you. The first experience, they double charged me, messed up the transaction but I wasn’t allowing them to run my credit card again, when they finally corrected their mistake, I had a $10 credit, 2nd time they charged me twice because their register wasn’t working, needless to say that was incorrect, and my bank recognized the duplicate charge and cancelled it. Third time, they charged me for my cutting down my nails and for the shape! If you’re getting a nail service, SHAPING is part of the process, not only that the shape was the same just shorter, make it make sense. Upon addressing the individual charges, the owner proceeded to tell me that if I hadn’t been charged before, I got lucky. I’ve heard others express how the customer service is poor among this culture but I ignored it because I don’t like stereotypes or stereotyping, however after my experience and seeing the DON’T CARE attitude in the review responses I know that I am making the right decision. I’ve notified the individuals that I referred not to patron this company going forward. They have HORRIBLE Customer Service and are very rude and argumentative. Tan, you have a lot to learn about customer service and customer retention. The customer isn’t always right, for sure, but you need to post your prices. There’s a reason you don’t, it’s because you’re not honest or consistent..I’ll definitely support American...
