Made a reservation on January 9 for 9pm on Valentine's Day, and included in the reservation notes that I am a vegetarian. The restaurant created a special Valentine's menu that wasn't on their website until the last couple of days. The menu has no vegetarian entrees, so I called and asked how they could accommodate. They stated they could give me grilled vegetables like potatoes, and that the appetizer and dessert options have vegetarian choices. Given the Valentine's menu is $65/person and includes dishes with pasta we pressed for other options instead of fried potatoes. Despite this, the restaurant was reluctant to find any other alternatives to their fried potato plate. If the restaurant is offering pasta in another dish, why can't they come up with a non-meat pasta substitution that is at least comparable to the duck and other meat options. Why does the restaurant think it's acceptable to charge someone $65 for some soup and fried potatoes? When we cancelled the reservation and explained why, the staff was barely apologetic and honestly didn't seem to care. This is all extremely disappointing given I was excited to celebrate the holiday, and now no longer have any plans due to a lack of flexibility on behalf of the restaurant. I do NOT recommend this restaurant not only for vegetarians, but for anyone. Such an expensive restaurant that is unwilling to accommodate guests beyond the lowest of food standards does not deserve patronage from anyone.

I am updating my review since I sincerely want to get my favorite restaurant back.. Cadot was my favorite restaurant in DFW. We always came here to reward ourselves with phenomenal foods almost every month. Unfortunately I have felt that food were saltier and lost a delicate tastes. I am keeping my first review and photos here: I had my best birthday dinner here. We ordered Goat cheese salad for appetizer, sea-bass, and lamb for entree. All foods we ordered had perfectly balanced taste and texture. Food presentation was so colorful and pretty. Wine we ordered was Alexander Valley Chardonnay. I loved its slight carbonated touch. It went well with sea bass and lamb of course. We ordered chocolate lava (Fondant au chocolat) for dessert and it was perfectly cooked with proper sweet and bitter. Lastly I appreciate birthday surprise creme brûlée. It was my best creme brulee I’ve ever had. Will definitely revisit :)

We picked this place because of the reviews and it's proximity to where we were staying in Dallas. When we arrived we were greeted and seated immediately. The ambience reminded us if a caricature of a French restaurant and we could hear the strains of an accordion playing somewhere. But don't get me wrong - the tables were set beautifully with white linen and sparkling glass and silverware. Our waiter Ramon brought water right away and asked if we were ready to order drinks. This is where it gets interesting. I ordered a Manhattan, my wife a Paloma and our friend an O'Doul's. Ramon went away and we were brought lovely bread and butter. Ramon returned and confirmed my wife's Paloma and the O'Doul's and asked me again what I had ordered. He came back soon with the Paloma and a tall glass for the beer. No Manhattan. A few minutes later he arrived with the O'Doul's and proceeded to pour it for our friend. Down the side of the glass and onto the table, that is. He just poured a little and then set the bottle down. We just kind of looked at each other like were in a Monty Python sketch. He returned a few minutes later with the Manhattan, which was superb. We had also ordered escargots bourguignon with butter and garlic sauce as well as the warm goat cheese salad with mixed greens, prosciutto, pine nuts, and asparagus with a balsamic vinaigrette. While we were waiting the accordion player swirled around the room playing both at tables and spaces in between. We decided his name was Pierre.

The somewhat surreal nature of the experience was getting to us and we were laughing a lot. "Pierre" is an accomplished player, but sometimes it's a bit loud in the small room. The appetizers arrived and we dug in. The escargots were cooked perfectly and beautifully garlicky. The salad, however, is a rock star! The proportions couldn't have been better, the dressing was very well-balanced, and the toasty ball of goat cheese was gooey and warm all the way through. Just amazing.

For our entrees my wife ordered the Flat iron steak with frites, our friend the risotto with scallops, shrimp and salmon, and for myself the scallop and shrimp linguine with mushrooms, spinach and champagne sauce. Ramon asked if we wanted anything else to drink and I said we would like 2 glasses of the St. Emilion with the food. Ramon said that would be fine and to remind him of that when the food came (?). And the accordion played on. The appetizer plates and silverware were cleared and then the entrees arrived via another server - very good. We were still laughing at the overall experience and having quite a good time. The we dug into our entrees. Oh, my. Everything was absolutely spot on and wonderful. My linguine dish was perfectly cooked and proportioned, with the scallops melting in your mouth and the shrimp with a perfect texture. the steak frites (medium rare) was outstanding and the frites were crispy, and the risotto was beautiful. And everything was piping hot, which not everyone gets right. The wine was deliver in 2 small carafes and poured into our glasses without hitting the table, and was very good.

About this time we decided that we wanted a soufflé for dessert so we ordered the Grand Marnier version. Ramon took the order and confirmed that we wanted chocolate. No, we said, Grand Marnier. We also ordered crème Brule to share between the 3 of us. The soufflé arrived. It was just beautiful. Fluffed up high and light, the server cracked the top with a fork and we poured warm cream into it. Wow! This is probably in the top 3 desserts I have ever had, and that's a lot of desserts. The crème brulee was perfect as well.

Overall this is a wonderful place with remarkably excellent food. I wouldn't hesitate to come here again and again, and heartily encourage everyone to do so. Say "hi" to Ramon and Pierre for us. They...

If you're looking for French food, this is not going to disappoint. First, it is in a strip mall where several other restaurants are located, but don't let the location fool you: it is good. Second, the price is right. Expect 2 entrees, 3 drinks (for 2 people), appetizer, and dessert to be around $140 - $180, plus tip. For a really nice dinner, this is worth the price. Third, the service is matched to the food --- white table cloth meal and upscale service. Fourth, the bar area is nice and not loud. Fifth, the clientele seemed to be well-to-do, a tad older than the 30 somethings, and well refined. A few couples / friends seemed to be regulars and were obviously just having appetizers and several cocktails / wine. A few younger couples were there obviously having a nice dinner. Sixth, this is not a cargo shorts or Levis kinda place. It is not a coat and tie either. Business casual would be appropriate and anything less is under dressed for the atmosphere. Seventh, kids would be OK but why you would want to put them through an ordeal to not disturb everyone else who would be there to have a nice, QUITE dinner is beyond me. There is an outdoor patio and kids would be more appropriate out there but again, why? Eighth, reservations would be advisable. Ninth, the chef's tasting menu would be something to seriously consider. Tenth, it is goooood. The real deal. I had the veal and my dinner companion had the sea bass, and both were excellent ... EXCELLENT. The appetizers were the mushroom brie (first rate!) and the Caesar salad, another winner. All were prepared as it should have been, seasoned well, and served as in any fine dinning restaurant. There is a vegetarian option so that is a plus. Excellent all the way around. Can't go wrong...
