I have bragged about this place my husband and I go there after church and we’ve been there often. I’ve taken friends in here. Today I went in expecting to sit out on the patio and have breakfast in between teaching swimming lessons. My hair was not the best and my clothes were a little wet from having a wet bathing suit underneath. So maybe this waiter that was serving me just thought I was gonna be a pain. But whatever. I asked him for a glass of iced tea in there since there was no sugar on the table asked him if he had equal or Splenda. They only had sweeten low out so the guy was seeming a little put out that he was going to have to go get me a different type of sugar . I gave him the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe it was my imagination. When he brought me out the tea I had realize that the tea was going to be $3.50. Call me crazy I think that’s a little bit ridiculous for a glass of tea. so I told him, you’re going to kill me but I think I will just have water instead. He looked at me like I asked him to give me a couple of his fingers. He just stood frozen with this very upset look on his face. I said don’t worry I’ll make it up to you with every intention of doing so. However he just kept going with the attitude. So I got up and left. I did notify the manager. And I will probably return because other than this I have never had a bad experience. I have waited tables and never ever would I roll my eyes have a customer for...
Read moreI was a first timer in Dallas and looking for good places to grab a nice breakfast at. Saw the reviews here and was sold. I ventured here this past Sunday and was immediately greeted by a gentleman named Mike who was very pleasant. He suggested we try their small cinnamon roll pancakes rather than the large ones as we'd get that taste in every bite with no additions needed. They ended up being absolute perfection in the end!!
We were then served by a gal, Crystal if I remember (My apologies if I'm mistaken!) Who was very polite, friendly, and personable. Easily one of the top 3 servers I've had at any establishment in my 30 years in this world. I had a Denver omelet to rival all omelets. My girlfriend ordered the migas and while I didn't partake, she said it was absolutely amazing.
If there were more than 5 stars, Scrambler Cafe's food and their employees would be a solid 9.5/5. I'll be referring anybody I know that visits Dallas for business, leisure, you name it to stop on by and grab a bite to eat. It's nice to see places like this still exist where there's truly passion and comradery in...
Read moreI've heard so many great things about this breakfast and lunch spot, and I decided to give it a try this rainy and gloomy Sunday morning. My dining partner and I were greeted promptly and sat at a comfortable table overlooking the shiplap feature wall. The decor was very neutral with turquoise and gray, soft 80s music playing, and lovely smells wafting through the air. My dining partner ordered the chorizo skillet and chose the marble rye bread to accompany his entree. I chose the Cowboy omelet with hashbrowns and pancakes on the side. I immediately knew this was going to be a good dining experience when the server Jon dropped off real maple syrup and real butter before our entrees arrived. The quality of the food was exceptional! Everything arrived in a short time and was extremely delicious. My omelet was full of bacon, ham, and sausage filling along with the two cheeses it came with. The pancakes were on point, melting in your mouth with buttery maple goodness. My only complaint is the distance we had to travel from Farmers Branch, but let me tell ya, it was...
