We joined Wilshire a little over a year ago because of this faith community’s commitment to inclusion of all. We love our church’s opportunities to serve in many many places both within the church and in the community. Our church is not a place of “just talk “ about loving people but a place of action where members serve such people as domestic violence survivors, hungry children, refugees, victims of pay day lending and education and schools. And Wilshire is a place that celebrates beauty, art, music and drama. The “Wilshire Way” of doing things is unique, refreshing and open to all. Read moreMy husband and I came to this church for the first time in 1995 on a rainy and cold and messy day. He did not have his motorized wheelchair at that time and I was struggling to push him up the inside ramp to the sanctuary, when a very kind gentleman came running down to help me and pushed Neil straight up the ramp. At that moment, I did not realize that the person helping me was the pastor of the church, but in retrospect, I am not at all surprised. I like hearing about other people's views and find it refreshing that this church lets you think about things and consider there might be shades of gray but that God loves you through the process.
