First time trying out Olivella’s tonight after being on our list for some time now. I can confidently say that I could move across the city, but I would go out of my way to come here. First, we knew we were pushing it arriving within 30 minutes of closing, so we called ahead to ensure we could order. We were told yes, so we made our way over. Upon parking, we noticed there weren’t many patrons at 9:35pm, so we cautiously walked in asking to order out rather than dining in… since nobody wants to be that person that comes in minutes before closing.
Samantha was the definition of welcoming, insisting we dine in anyway, striking up easy conversation and offering suggestion. We ordered a pizza to-go and a couple glasses of wine at the bar while we waited. The pizza was done so lighting-fast that Samantha insisted we try it before we leave. So we did. Long story short, there was not much pizza to take home, and it was gone before we could think to take a picture.
Not only was the food phenomenal, but the service took it to the next level. Who has ever been to a restaurant on a Friday night where those working are more focused on ensuring that you have a wonderful experience rather than closing on time? I will forever be a loyal customer— thank...
Read moreVery disappointed with this place. It looked promising so we decided to try it for the first time. We ordered the meatballs to start which were great around. They were piping hot and the sauce was great too. We then ordered the ravioli and the soppresata and sausage pizza. The pizza came out first and was cold, like it had been sitting out several minutes. I could see how it could’ve been good if it was hot. It wasn’t quite as saucy as we like, so we asked for a side of marinara expecting it to be like the sauce that came with the meatballs. After about 10 minutes and asking two people for the sauce, we received some and it tasted like a kids version of the sauce that came with the meatballs, bland. The ravioli finally came out and the first bite we took was cold, especially in the middle. My husband said his first bite was piping hot and he was breathing steam out of his mouth. I took another bite and it was semi hot. The uneven cooking temperature led us to believe that this was a microwaved dish. I could see how the food could be good if it was actually made in house and not just loaded of the Sysco truck, but needless to say, we won’t be back. There are plenty of other pizza joints that are better where we can...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I eat out a lot. Having said that, I have never before checked out Olivellas and I am so glad I did. First of all- the food was good. The Pizza was a spot on and the cheese dip with artichokes was so good that we at the inhaled the entire thing before we could take a breath (or a picture🤪) But- here is what impressed me the most- the service and the overall vibe. I would generally not review a place that is mostly pizza but the overall experience inspired me. Service was friendly from the front door on in- the manager? Right there checking on us and hoping we come back soon. Specials? Yep and the ever available staff was there letting us know about half price wine night and 40% off pasta specials. All in all it was just a good, fun experience with great service for an affordable price and those have been hard to come by since covid. Go check it out. I think you will be happy. We sat inside and it was a good spot for conversation and relatively quiet. But Feel free to take the whole family. The covered patio with ac was a great spot with lots of families who really seemed to be enjoying...
