Karen's Hallmark Shop — Local services in Danville

Today was the worst shopping experience I've ever had while shopping at any Hallmark store. The sales clerk were so rude, ignorant, and completely disinterested in helping me it was shameful. While checking out I asked her for a piece of tissue for the item I purchased, and she said she would give it to me, but when I got out of the store I noticed it was not in my bag. I went back into the store and asked her for it again, so she handed it to me and I left the store again. My son and I went over to the pretzel place across the hall, where I removed the pricetag from the gift and began to wrap the tissue around it. I thought it would look better with tape to close the tissue, so my son volunteered to go back into the Karen's Hallmark shop to buy some tape for me. When he went back he overheard the cashier complaining to a customer about me asking for the tissue paper. My son was there and heard everything that had transpired before and he knows I wanted the gift wrapped, and that I was very willing to pay for the service, but the cashier was totally inept and had no idea how much to charge me or if they had wrapping paper for Mother's Day. My son confronted her about her rudeness and she did apologize to him, but if she had done her job the store would have made more money, my gift would have looked much nicer, and my son and I would not have been so egregiously offended. #HorribleCustomerService...

I went to this store about a month ago looking to buy a few things and was NEVER ONCE spoken to by any of the employees working there, including the one that almost pushed me out of the way while putting some things out on the shelves. I forgave that experience thinking that everyone has bad days now and again. Today, however, was the exact same way. I went in to get a couple of Yankee Candles for myself and a friend. I was never acknowledged by any of the staff, including the exact same employee who stepped DIRECTLY in front of me to get something off a shelf. When dealing with the public, it is nice to at least have common courtesy, which none of the employees have. Will not be returning to this store for any reason, and if others feel the same as I do on this subject this business will...
