I was a member for about 8 months. Be careful with what you sign up for. The app never worked and the front desk took message but the management never responds to your phone calls or attempts to contact them. Every time I went there I spend 20 minutes just trying to set my app up could never do that. I froze my account but they kept posting charges on my credit card stating that was the first time I found out that it was a 12 month contract. I spoke to the manager Megan after 14-15 days of leaving messages. Half the days she was out other half she was in one meeting or the other. She almost never calls you back. She mentioned that she will take the charges of freeze period off if we continued for atleast 6 months. Cancellation was another horror story. Last time we went to the club was May 23 and I notified them by email that we no longer will be able to come on June 6 but the charges on on my account kept posting till July. The manager is extremely hard to reach. In 25 years of training in all types of gyms, I've never been as insulted by the staff as I was today by Marcus (trainer). While I was in a deep stretch, he pushed past me to put away his client's mats and bumped into me, causing me to strain my upper left calf muscle. When I popped up and uttered "are you kidding me?", Marcus DOUBLED DOWN and said sternly: "YOU'RE BLOCKING THE EQUIPMENT, BRO". When I then asked for his name, he turned his back and muttered something about his name tag. I don't know how long Marcus has been working at the Darien Equinox or how solid/secure his client roster is, but he is WAY too comfortable out on the floor to the point that he's walking around bumping into patrons while they're stretching and mouthing off to them when he's confronted. I was a member here for a year and I loved the facility, the staff and the trainers. I was never warned when I signed up that biological men would be allowed in the women’s locker rooms. Sharing a locker room with a biological male who is allowed to sit on his phone for the entire duration it takes me to undress, shower, blow dry my hair and leave for work was sickening. For three weeks I watched this person with phone in hand and eyes on women in the locker room. I have never felt so uncomfortable or violated in my life. Really hope that person wasn’t taking photos when they saw me undressing the last three weeks.
