Chip City — Restaurant in Darien

I've often seen these cookie stores that seem to have popped up everywhere within the past few years or so and wondered how there can be an entire store for cookies. For months now I've seen this location waiting to open not knowing it was a cookie store. A cookie store that I believe started in NYC which is 40 minutes from this location. I'd read reviews of the other locations and they seem to be hit or miss. I figured this location was new and I'd give it a try even though I'm more of a cake person than a cookie person.

One night I tried 4 cookies. Chocolate chip, double chocolate, toffee and a smores. I had no idea that these cookies are the size of your face and the thickness of someone with thick fingers. The size box they gave me look like it was for a dozen donuts and it felt very heavy. I already knew that I was in over my head.

So given the size of each cookie, I took two bites of each to taste and assess. Surprisingly I enjoyed all 4 of them in this order - double chocolate, smores, chocolate chip and toffee (I expected to like this one a lot more but the presence of toffee is kind of weak). They were all good.

Walking in the store it was very clean and orderly. There was a woman who worked there who was so pleasant, kind, efficient, and professional. While I likely won't go again only because I cannot be out here eating cookies like this and expecting to remain the same size for the last 20 years, it is definitely a great place to go for those who either don't care about that or are far less sugar sensitive than me. But maybe if you are conscious of your waistline you buy one and split it with a couple of people. So good. Sugar lovers and addicts will rejoice.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. We live about 45 minutes away but came to Darien to watch family members dogs. We came across this and I'm so glad we found it. Service was outstanding, cookies... perfectly baked, super gooey and thick, we got 4 before I noticed the Lucky Charms one (my favorite cereal btw), and we were told they would be ready in about 20 minutes. We didn't even leave the area because we were waiting for it, and I'm so glad we did that. I do like me some crumbl every once in a while, but no doubt... these are much better, and ny dad would agree haha. Overall, amazing place. Hands down these are The Best cookies ever!! Tried the new glazed cinnamon donut cookie—yum! Also brought home a lemon berry (a past favorite) and trying a cookie butter with Biscoff.
