Stop & Shop — Local services in Dartmouth

I go here with my stop n shop card an still pay 2x than I would at Walmart so what's the point. I was at the Dartmouth location yesterday an wish I had taken photos. I walk to grab some blueberries and right on top is a pint container filled with mold not the only one either. The worker I gave them too was kinda rude and didn't seem happy that I a customer handed them to him. I proceeded to shop for fruits an vegetables. I had found moldy strawberries bigger than a pint container and don't even get me started on their raspberries. Had no pre packaged deli meats like toi and sb. I grabbed prepackaged green bell peppers when I go home I realized they had mold as well. I also had grabbed a baby spinach and spring mix and majority of was already slimy. I'm adding to this review due to Yogi tea that I use to get at stop and shop with my food stamps an now I can't. It's more money at Walmart but I can still get it with my foodstamps I suggest this be fixed because its tea it's cover by food stamps y'all are cheaper than Walmart. I give y'all time an time again to fix these issues but yet on April 3rd 2023 I couldn't get my tea and there was a huge line at deli because no pre packed deli meat was out. I also noticed you hot box with the hot foods sometimes is low on water I know this because I worked with them and I know the smell when water is low. Please fix these issues. But the cashier at self checkout was really helpful and she said she'd even talk to y'all...

I honestly use the pharmacy more than shop at the store anymore, only because Stop & Shop is a little more expensive than other stores. That being said, there ARE ways to save a lot more while earning much needed gas credit if you are willing to put in the extra time it takes to look through fliers, use various money saving, rebate & coupon apps. I used to do that, but with the cost of food going up & gas prices reaching & above $5 a gallon I may have to go back to that. I love the pharmacy here though. After years of using Rite Aid & loving everyone there, to having them change to Walgreens & everyone leaving, I had to find somewhere new. I tried a couple other chain pharmacies & hated them all. SUPER long lines, over worked employees always short staffed & nothing getting done when it supposed to be, to having medication constantly on back order, I had to find something else! My nurse practitioner actually recommended S&S bc she never had any problems with them, neither has her pts. I called first to make sure the medication I'm on is something they carry regularly, and if they have a shortages constantly, lol, & they said not at all... So I changed. That was about a yr ago now & I rarely have had any issues. I don't recommend going though... Lol, bc if you all start going, that...

So been going here since they opened ! Today I spent 1 & 1/2 hours getting everything I needed for me & senior parents low & behold they won't take my check the only way I've ever paid in this store. This is ridiculous I had just used a check before I started groceries to get my medicine at pharmacy with no issues. There was more than enough in my account to pay for items. This is embarrassing ! Times are bad and you would think that you've been loyal to a store they would take good care of you....but no instead they embarrass you in front of other customers. I am so disappointed in Dartmouth Stop & Shop!!!! I will probably go back to Shaws better prices anyway !!! Not sure if I will ever go back except for prescriptions for now til I find new pharmacy. Also thanx to the people on next door I found out more about stop and shop how their money leaves our country. People have told me that I should contact the attorney General for discrimination, after the thousands of dollars I've spent there I am very disappointed!! Been going since they opened. I will tell everyone about this disloyalty. I'm going to be trying Markt Basket after everything I've heard ! Shame on this store and especially the manager who didn't even give a valid reason.
