My experience with this store started out great and has now become just dismal. I feed my cat a specific flavor of Purina Pro Plan Focus canned cat food. I was thrilled to see that Theisen's stocked that brand and flavor since the store is closer to my house than either Blaine's or the pet stores on Elmore. I typically buy a small case of 24 cans every 10 days or so. I was approached by an employee when I made my first purchase and told that they could order the food for me and hold it in the back. I readily agreed and gave him all my contact info. I never heard anything from the store but he remembered me when I went in the next time to purchase the food. Apparently, my contact information was lost so I gave it to him again. And again, no contact. I went into the store on Sunday 12/4 to purchase cat food and found only one can on the shelf. I asked for assistance and was told that they had 36 "on hold" in the back room but no one seemed to know who they were on hold for. The young man that had helped me previously was not working that day. So today I call to find out if that stock was being held for me and if not, did they have more food on the shelf. I asked for the pet department and was transferred. The phone rang numerous times and finally rolled to an automated system where I was asked to input an extension number. Zero didn't work to get me back to the operator so I hung up. A plan for great customer service requires follow through and I just don't see that here. I'll just go back out to Blaine's where the food was always on the shelf.
UPDATE: I finally reached someone in the pet department who told me that the young man who initially helped me "isn't good at putting things in the computer". And, there is apparently someone else who uses the same food and all stock has been held and sold to him (EIGHT cases worth!) as he was allowed to use a rain check multiple times. So, the 36 cans on hold don't actually exist as their "inventory is messed up". After some research, I have found that I can order the same thing from PetCo and have it...
Read moreDO NOT take your car to Theisens in Davenport for repairs. Our experience has been just awful! They’ve changed the wrong rotor on my car which ended up causing my brand new rear breaks to crack. The shop technician was mad because he was going to get wrote up and then stormed away. They paid for new parts and corrected everything so we gave them a 2nd chance to do maintenance on my husbands car. I asked them to MAKE SURE they knew what they were doing with his car. They said they did, the store manager said she would supervise everything and then they crashed it into another car because they didn’t know how to drive it. So they told us to go get estimates on bumper replacements. THEN they did an inspection on my daughters car with specific instructions to check the ball joints. They Gave us the list of what needed done, said ball joints were just fine and sent us on our way. LESS THAN 48 hours later, my daughter was driving when her ball joint completely busted! We had to pay a tow truck and haul it to a different shop to get fixed right. They’ve lost our business and we’ll be sure to spread the word of how terrible they are. When I complained to the manager, she just smirked at me and nodded her head. The shop is sloppy, lazy and irresponsible. Absolutely unacceptable. Update: stopped at Theisens to give them the estimate on my husbands car. They back peddled on their offer to replace the bumper and offered us a gift...
Read moreI was in Iowa from Illinois and stopped into Theisen’s at 3808 Brady St Davenport Iowa for a tire repair. I had the same tire repaired the previous day by a local tire shop who failed to tell me the repairs were too extensive and I needed to replace it. So I was already upset heading into Theisen’s but the customer service I received right as I walked in, changed my mood right away. I was greeted by a cashier and Tonya McConnell at the tire service station. She listened to my horrid story and was in disbelief herself over the situation I was in and set up the repair right away. The technician came in and stated the tire was in bad shape and needed replaced. The store did not have my tire in stock as, most service stations do not, as I expected just to replace it with my spare “donut” and be on my way. However, Tonya made a few calls found a size but I really just wanted them to put my spare “donut” on and be on my way. She did went above and way beyond and contacted the store manager who just happened to know of a couple tires they had in store they ordered for someone else that never came for them a year ago. I received two tires for the price of one and was happy with all everyone did I to help me. THANK YOU TEAM!! I am a very...
