I came to this salon to fix my hair color. At home, I had colored my black hair to a light brown, but only half of it took the color and the other half remained black. I asked the salon to make the entire base color a dark brown with lighter highlights. Instead, they used black dye rather than dark brown and unnecessarily bleached my hair, which caused a lot of damage. My hair ended up losing volume, became very fragile, and I had a lot of hair loss.
When I returned to have it corrected, the owner tried to fix it by applying toner multiple times, which burned my scalp. In the end, they washed my hair and left without even drying it, saying they didn't have time. On top of that, they were disrespectful and didn’t acknowledge their mistakes.
For my mother, we requested a permanent wave. They did the process, told us to buy special products and follow their instructions, but after one wash all the curls disappeared. Her hair was also damaged and no result remained.
I’m leaving this review so others are aware. We spent $220 for my hair and $150 for my mother's, and neither of us got what we asked for. I hope the salon improves their service in the future.
Thank you for your response. However, I must clarify several points and express my disappointment with how the situation has been handled.
It’s true that I returned to your salon for a follow-up, but that appointment change was made based on your team’s own suggestion so that both my mother and I could come together. The stylist who originally worked on my hair was not available, and the owner herself handled my hair that day.
At no point did I say I was satisfied — in fact, I stayed quiet while your team mentioned that bleaching my hair again would cause serious damage. Despite that, multiple rounds of toner were applied to my hair to remove redness. Each time the toner was used, I felt burning and irritation on my scalp. After that visit, my hair began to fall out severely — far more than before — and the damage was so bad that I eventually had to cut my hair short to remove the destroyed sections.
As for my mother, the explanation that her perm was affected because she “tied her scarf too tightly” is inaccurate and unfair. My mother rarely leaves the house and keeps her hair uncovered most of the time. She only wears a light scarf when going outside. So, the results of her perm clearly show poor application, not customer negligence.
What I find most disappointing is how the salon handled my concerns. Instead of taking responsibility, I was treated unprofessionally — my wet hair was left unstyled, and I was told that my hair wouldn’t be dried. That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable from a business that claims to value its clients.
Additionally, I was told to use specific shampoos and conditioners, which I purchased at my own expense and used for weeks, hoping to repair the damage. Despite this, my hair never recovered. I spent far more money trying to fix the problem than what I originally paid for the service at your salon.
No one ever informed me of a “7-day guarantee,” and at no time did anyone reach out to ensure that I was satisfied after my visit. I made every effort to communicate politely and give your salon a chance to make things right, but instead, I received a dismissive and inaccurate response that blames the customer instead of acknowledging the mistakes made.
Given the severe damage to my hair and the lack of accountability shown, I do not believe I received the professional service I paid for. I hope you take this feedback seriously and ensure no other clients experience the...
Read moreMarie. For 20 years I have gone to Cami Salon in South Beach. I was looking to go closer to home and went to Salon Mixx. I was already getting my nails done wasting a little time right next door and they called and said the owner who was to do my hair was sick so they put me with Marie. I was reluctant because every time I cheat on my regular salon I regret it and Billy tells me! Marie burned my hair. Did a cut that was nowhere near the look I wanted and chopped away. Nothing blended and she couldn’t even blow it out to be smooth or style it. My hair was thick and pretty healthy. Usually when I leave a salon, because I have good hair, people give compliments. This time, my daughter asked if Marie was old because it looks like it was an old people’s haircut! That’s not what I was looking for! It was my birthday! So disappointed! They have a policy to come back within a certain amount of time if not happy but I don’t want her to keep chopping! Pictures below:
A. WHAT I WANTED B. WHAT MY HAIR LOOKED LIKE C. WHAT I GOT! Frizzy. Chopped. Color fried. All for over $300 with tip! I’m adding on to my review after seeing the response. Most of your response for a bad burnt color and bad cut was about money? I never mentioned money in my review! Only that it was over $300, which I am used to paying in South Beach where I get great results. This was not about the money but what I got for the money. Yes I turned down from the front desk girl help because I did not want her cutting or burning my hair more. I also acknowledge you reaching out, which was appreciated but then it’s been very busy with hurricane prep etc. I just really don’t know what can be done moving forward. Again this was not about the money so please address the...
Read moreUDATE* 10/6/2024 The owner reached out and was extremely apologetic. I feel satisfied with how she offered to fix what happened and appreciate her hearing me and taking accountability. I would also like to state this is a reflection of my experience with one hairstylist. The shop itself seemed very cool and unique.
I’m usually not one to leave negative reviews, but after being told I had a 7-day window of satisfaction, which was promptly revoked, I had to be honest. I’m not going into detail regarding the barrage of negative and defensive messages I received from Heather after 14 hours at this salon, and back-to-back bleaching sessions which left my hair fried beyond repair. But what I will say is that I was gaslit into a hair color I didn’t ask for. The first day after 10 hours, Heather was super apologetic for how it turned out. Chunks of multi-colored hair and not at all the correct color. She said she’d fix it. The second day, she re-bleached my entire head and fried it. And this is the outcome. This is how my hair was left after $550. AND a refusal to fix it. I tried to keep this off reviews and with Heather only but after the messages I received back, I had no choice. Plus, I had to get this fixed and the stylists were shocked a reputable salon left my hair like this. Multi-colored and fried. I would like to add I had a consult, so I went to this salon a total of 3 times. During the consult I shared my inspo picture and was told that it was completely do-able. After reaching out and expressing how unhappy I was she blamed my hair and hair texture. Which if that’s an issue should be communicated upfront and before any service At the very least, take accountability. This didn’t have to get so...
