First of all Xfinity in Jacksonville and Miami is $39 a month and much faster. $75 with Spectrum monthly ONLY pays for WiFi, slower WiFi than xfinity at that!! The Technician who installed my WiFi router told me to add phone service to my package to save $15 off my monthly bill of $75 for WiFi only to bring it to $60, because Iām unemployed from covid as well as a full time college student I can use any discount I can get , I didnāt believe this and donāt even own a home phone so I was reluctant to begin with and even had him call his manager to verify this deal was accurate. They both agreed as obviously are in cahoots together on this scam and it actually added $15 to my bill. He also told me I had no cable as it wasnāt on his āinvoice to install itā after I was supposed to have it free for 30 days with the promotional plan... so the past 3 months I think I have no cable, (also keep in mind as a student during covid Iām supposed to get free internet until June) when I check my bill itās $300 I was being billed for internet, phone services and cable I didnāt even have!! Currently disputing these charges and will not be paying for services I didnāt use, wasnāt aware I had, and was told false prices on. I agreed to $76 a month not $126. Iād rather have no WiFi than do business with these scammers. To scam a 23 year old college student during COVID?? Iām unemployed right now, honestly?? Seriously go pick on someone your own age or who can afford to take hundreds of dollars losses every month because I wonāt be able to do that until I get my degree. Maybe they do this because they know theyāre the only provider for WiFi in many areas, but Iād rather buy my own modem and will be paying Verizon for WiFi in home instead, at least theyāre company values honesty and does not trick you. Also keep in mind apparently āstreaming servicesā and cable are different, I had no clue the difference or that I apparently had either (because he never installed it like he was supposed to) but they will make sure to bill you for services you donāt even use. And no one could explain how they arrived at that number. I was transferred multiple times when I asked for an explanation of the charges. Finally got a customer service representative to go over all the charges and arrived at $126.87/mo....this after being transferred multiple times and on hold for hours ,said it included everything...all the taxes, hidden fees etc. I agreed to this only because I was trying to establish the service for an elderly friend who lost her home to hurricane Irma and had moved in with me. She lives for her calls from her family and her favorite TV shows. Otherwise I would never have done business with this company. When my bill came it was over $300!! Partial month charges, a charge for upgrading my service š±, a charge for setting up my service ( which took 3 visits by the way because they never knew what they were doing when they arrived and they never brought the equipment they needed. At one point they said all they could do is ship the equipment to me and I would have to install it myself or they would have to charge me extra!!) Been on the phone/ computer/live chat all morning trying to resolve this and still no help from Spectrum accept to threaten me on my billing page with disconnecting my service. They may say youāre speaking to so and so but the way it interacts is so mechanical. i just got off the chat and was trying to explain an issue, this āpersonā went over my entire account and completely ignored my problem. They did get to my issue which was when i went into my account to see how much i owed on my phone i saw it was only 199$. Right next to that i see that iām on the upgrade anytime plan and since i only owe 199$ they would pay off the remainder of my phone and i could upgrade. iāve had a new iphone through spectrum every year since the 11- there was never an issue! Now they want my iphone 15 pro max PLUS i have to put a 688$ deposit down! Thatās more than the new phone is worth . my pro max is def worth the remainder after i pay 688$ so how is that FINANCING? This company is uncaring , unsympathetic, and unethical. Donāt tell me i can upgrade then hit me with a 688$ deposit BOT. i know for a fact that was not a real person.
