Daytona outlet mall blows St Augustine outlet mall Out of the Water! If I have the time, I will happily drive the extra hour to a better version of what is closest to Jacksonville. Every visit this mall has been clean, tidy, they have charging stations for cars as well as cell phones, its landscaped well, there are Plenty of activities, food and drink if shopping for clothes and shoes doesn't sit well with the entire party. Bring your kids along for a small choo choo train ride through the mall. (Parents welcome on the train ride with the kiddos) How cute!
The stores are extremely similar to what the St Augustine outlets offer, give or take a couple. Each store has more variety than st Augustine's selection, and the mall overall is less crowded and picked over.
There is traffic getting in and out of the mall with Buc-ee's right across the street and Sam's club within walking distance, but to me the pro's outweigh the cons.
I happily knocked out a lot of my Christmas shopping for friends and family this past weekend with ease. (Make sure you are price matching to stores online prices btw - aka American eagle is one of them) you'll get a better deal and a lot of the stores will price match.
If you are a Fl native, I'm sure you are aware of the bad rap Daytona is known for having. Give this outlet mall a go. Daytona has really cleaned itself up over the last 5-10 years and the bucees here in Daytona is also better than the St Augustine location. Don't sleep on this lil town an hour outside of Jax. I easily went here on a Sunday afternoon and got so much done in a small window of time and was home in time to feed the dog dinner at...
Read moreA civilized way to shop, in the warmth of the Central Florida environment, this "mall" is not inside an air-conditioned bubble. The walkways are open to the fresh air and yes, the heat of this part of Florida. All stores are well arranged in an easy to find pattern, so that you can get there from here, so to speak. As someone who must travel this mall in a wheelchair, I found it reasonably handicapped-friendly, as well. And the assortment of shops from various manufacturers is more than enough to find anything you might want. While I have returned to Tanger more than five times since our first visit about two months ago, one thing still disappoints me. The lack of what Disney calls Electric Convenience Vehicles, or powered carts/chairs, as seen in grocery stores in this area. Tanger has a very large area to traverse and, with no daily experience in a wheelchair, I am not up to the task; my wife also, at 100 pounds, is not up to constantly pushing me in the chair. So we tire early and don't get to visit all the stores we might want to visit. Thus the number of return visits in such a short time. I urge Tanger management to consider offering a motorized convenience to those of us who actually need them for medical reasons. I'd rather not shop until I truly do drop…unless it’s in the fun way. Tanger is a fun place to visit where you can find nearly anything you need to wear...
Read moreThis supersized outlet shopping center was built with every customer in mind. There is parking all around the entire shopping center, with a lot that is specifically for Tanger Outlet Members, motorcycle and compact vehicle spots, parking spaces for Parents with Strollers and there is a ramp at every entrance for your walker, wheelchair or stroller. It can look overwhelming if you have never been here but no matter which entry you choose, you have immediate access to the center’s store map and they have an office for any questions, concerns, to purchase membership for $10 that never expires and doesn’t require a payment every year, you can rent a wheelchair and they have really fun activities for the kids during the Holidays. Simply go in the office, ask for the activity book and start finding the hidden elves or whatever the theme is for a free gift after you complete the activity. I’ve received quality bags (big leather totes) as a prize for participating and lots of other goodies.
The stores are mostly smaller than their standalone locations but still have a variety of the most popular items. There are several restrooms which are inside of a small building where you will also find a vending machine. Bathrooms are always clean, kid friendly and spacious. One of my favorite outlets in Central Florida. Not over priced or super crowded. ...
