I LOVE SUGAR — Attraction in Daytona Beach

Great shopping experience: however, fell way short on service.

We emailed corporate about needing to return a gift after having been evacuated for several weeks. We received no response so then tried going into the store and were told they have a strict 45 day return policy and we are 2 weeks too late.

Sad to see companies punish Floridians who played it safe with their family and evacuated for a couple weeks.

Hopefully others find this appalling and take our lead by not shopping here anymore.

UPDATE: We sent a follow up email to the one on 10/9 that wasn’t responded to so my review is accurate.

We were told that despite the hurricane evacuation that you all have a strict return policy and so even if we were 1 day late due to hurricane, no excuses per the store - so no way we would get our money back. We exchanged for other products we didn’t want only because the store refused to give money back and we didn’t want to ever come back nor do we want anyone else to come there so didn’t want a store gift card.

We are business owners and as such, we know that issues will arise; however, we grade businesses on how they respond to such issues and your store gets a 2 star for how you handled this situation. If your store experience, cleanliness, etc had issues you’d have...

Luckily this is the lowest on Google but I just spoke with the manager who was so amazing in explaining the transaction. for someone to go in a store and according to their receipt, they charge a certain amount for the bag which can be $1.05 $1.77 $1.37 $ or $.49 and they allow you to put candy in a bag. They have nowhere in their store in display where it says once you get ready to check out, it will be $15.96 each according to the manager the owner of the store says he does not like to display the amount the final amount that has to be charged so not only are you paying for the back you’re turning around and you’re paying $15.96 something dollars for the weight of the bag and the bag so nobody should go into no bootleg jacked up version of it sugar or the candy store and have to pay 80 freaking dollars for some candy. That’s halfway good halfway night so anybody who go to Daytona Beach do not go to the store call I love sugar because they are a rip off and their Corp. and their owner refuses to put the correct price out that way that customers will not leave the store that sounds...

I so wanted to give a higher rating, but my visit was less of the experience than I expected. Things were marked at one price and rang up at a higher price, when brought to the employees attention they seemed aggrevated that they had to even deal with us. They corrected a couple of the items, but totally ignored me on the other item. I didn't even bother with it at this point because of their attitude.They we're not very knowledgeable about how to correct these issues, and their attitude towards me was not very professional.
