I went to the Macy's in Dearborn today and saw a beautiful sandal on the rack in my size. I asked the clerk if she had the other shoe in the 8.5 that I needed. She went in the back and came back with the other shoe and the box. I purchased the shoes and got home to discover that the right shoes was an 8.5 and the left shoe was an 8. I called the store and eventually they answered. I asked if they could hold the other left 8.5 shoe for me since I would be back on that side of town the next day. I live 30 minutes. She said she couldn't do it. All I want to do was get the correct show. She was. ot willing to work with me since this was their mistake. Her concern was about her inventory. nSo, I immediately jumped back in the car and drove back to the store. The younger clerk again was only concerned about her inventory and never once showed empathy or compassion for the inconvenience. The young man seemed more humble and apologetic. The younger female said she would get her Manager. After sometime, the female Manager appeared. She actually was the one who put the wrong shoes in the box. She was just as robotic and unconcerned and unapologetic. They both talked to me like I was supposed to know and understand procedure never addressing the fact that they inconvenienced a customer. They didn't care about me as a person let allow a customer. The only time this will be wrong is if this happens to them. Out of sheer frustration, I asked for my money back and left the shoes. The younger female kept saying, I got the wrong shoes sounding as though the fault was mine. When in fact, they (the Manager ) were the ones who put the wrong shoe sizes in the box. nVery very poor...
Read moreDo not believe their sale prices while shopping online! I was looking online at some sheet sets that I wanted, but decided to wait for them to go on sale. A week later they sent me an email saying that something I was browsing was now on sale, so I logged on and the sheet set I wanted was on sale for 30% off, and I was able to add another promo on top of that, that also stated that it could be used on sale items, giving me another 30% off of the sale price. I thought i got a great deal and made my purchase, giving them my credit card info, and received a confirmation email about my purchase stating that i would get another email when items ship. Then 3 days later, after realizing that I never heard back from them, I looked up my account only to see that my order had been cancelled by them, and I was never even notified. I called their online customer service, only to be told that the items I bought were not supposed to be on sale and that their website had made a mistake and they told me best they could do is sell them to me for $80 more than I agreed to when I gave them my credit card information, I asked to speak to a manager and was told their was not any that I could talk to. I usually try to avoid the large online stores as I have always tried my best to support the old brick and mortar stores, but not any more, customer service like this is why Amazon is as large as they are, and now they have gained a new customer, good bye forever Macy's, hope your employees enjoy the unemployment line when you go out...
Read moreThis store is meant to be a substitute from all the other expensive stores. However, it tries to bring back old styles from years and years ago with huge price tags. It is sad that I can't use my coupons on special clearances even if a T-shirt is $30 and I want the price to be discounted. Most Macy's stores are really big and nice to explore but this one has a weird layout. I have to search what I want. Why are the dresses upstairs in the corner? I had to ask three different ladies where it is. I like the idea of each brand having its own stands and space on the floor plan, but all the clothes are mixed anyway. One time I was looking for the same blouse but in a smaller size but I had to get it in a bootlegged brand. Make it more authentic, Macy's. This is the worst part of it. Finally, when I was done shopping, I had to wait for the lady to show up at the counter to help me. I looked around the store and only one woman was helping people with their purchases. The line was long, and every one in the line only had a few things in their hands. I waited 2-3 hours and the store almost closed. Every Macy's is the same: the one in Great Lakes Mall Somerset, Westland, Southland malls, and even the one in Chicago! I think the service is the first priority...
