I am writing to express my disappointment with the customer service I received during my recent visit to your Chico's store located in Deer Park, IL.
On Saturday, February 10th, at approximately 5:00 PM, I entered the store and began browsing. Despite being a regular shopper at the South Barrington, IL location, I was met with a significantly different level of service at your Deer Park store.
There were two sales associates present, and while I inquired about a blouse displayed on a mannequin, their responses were curt and unhelpful. When I asked about the availability of certain pants sizes in the petite section for my mother and sister, I received similar dismissive responses. Additionally, when I inquired about the store's closing time, one of the associates stated 7:00 PM, despite the time being 5:12 PM, suggesting a lack of attention or concern for customer needs.
The most distressing part of my experience was when, after feeling neglected and disregarded, I confronted the associates, expressing my frustration. One of the associates made a racially charged remark implying that their lack of assistance was due to me being Latin/Mexican, ethnicity or the type of purse I was carrying. This behavior is completely unacceptable and has no place in a retail environment.
Feeling disrespected and unwelcome, I chose to leave the store without completing my intended purchases. It's disheartening to encounter such unprofessionalism and discrimination while simply trying to shop for clothing.
I urge you to address this matter promptly and thoroughly. It's essential for your store to uphold standards of customer service and ensure that all patrons are treated with respect and dignity, regardless of their background or appearance.
I trust that you will take appropriate action to address these issues and prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
