I came to this with people giving it rave reviews and seeing the amazing Google score….how I was sadly let down after my initial wow impression of walking in. We sat down around 530 pm on cinco de mayo… we expected it to be busy and were ok with it… we ordered after getting our server…few min later I asked to change from corn to flour tortillas for my tacos/.. she said she may not be able to make it happen… okay…thinking the order is about to come out…. Again I know it was busy…but an hour later..we asked for one refill of chips …she said it would be extra and it does not say that anywhere on the menu…. Ok fine…let it go… we finally get our food … change to tortilla not made… veggie burrito was tasteless….kids quesadilla barely had cheese melted … and my tacos had very little flavor Zzz the saving grace was the salsa which was out of this world!!!! Salsa would be the only reason I would ever step foot in this place again… we got our bill and automatic gratuity was added of 18%…again i am thinking I missed that on my menu..looked again …nothing there… then I thought it was because of cinco de mayo … no explanation.. we left and on the way out I was curious…so I asked the hostess…I asked if the chip situation was one basket per table of three or what… and was told it was one per table… this is ridiculous…..at the prices they charge especially…then the hostess said I don’t handle the chip situations..u want a bag…I said no.. just asking… then spoke to a manager and she said we can’t have seven orders of chips …I was like we wanted one only because it was taking an hour…then she said we should have come on another day and that they were busy due to the holiday and that they had big parties to feed as well and we had to wait… an hour for all pre cooked food is ridiculous…nothing was made to order or could be adjusted to your taste… she said I guess I can’t change your mind to come back… then I asked her about the auto gratuity..she said we do that with bills over a $100… out bill was about $45…she then said well that should not have happened…
At this time I expected her to say something like..let me make that correction and get that fixes or let me make that right … I know this has been a difficult experience..come again and try us out…nothing…she just defended it by saying it’s cinco de mayo!
Good luck to this place! I hope others enjoy it and patron it… but I unfortunately will not due to the service and incompetence of the staff. I can overlook food criticisms as it is a personal choice…but service levels should be...
Read moreI went into tonight. They were busy and waited over 30 min to be seated for a table for 2. Took the Server Laura 30 minutes to acknowledge us. There was another server on the floor didnt get his name, but he checked on us a few times. We proceeded to order our drinks. Laura brought my piña colada in a smaller cup than the usual glass cup. The piña colada was overflowing all over the taple and Laura didnt give me a straw. 10 minutes pass by and i see Laura and ask her for a straw. I extend my arm so that i can take the straw from her. She proceeded to go out of her way to avoid my hand to place it on the table. By the time i got around to finish my drink she took our order. We waited 45 minutes and still our food wasnt ready and asked for an update. Laura said she went back to check on our food and she noticed our ticket on the floor. After 10 minutes our food got to the table and it was incorrect. Laura then proceeded to argue with me about what i ordered and gets upset. I asked to cancel the order to just charge me the drinks. She got mad and took my plate. She went to get Daniel to cancel the food out of the order. NEITHER OF THEM APOLOGIZED FOR THE WAIT NOR GETTING MY ORDER WRONG. They both allowed me to get upset rather than attempting to fix the issue. He then decided to ask me if i wanted to take the fajitas from across-the-room. No eye contact, no apology. Terrible service. The only person that really made my experience somewhat delightful was the gentleman that was serving other tables making sure Laura was helping us. A total of 2 hours to get 2 sets of drinks, horrible service, and prideful server. If i could put 0 stars i...
Read moreThis is a great Mexican restaurant and unfortunately it is located behind the Deer Park Town Center so anything located in the front will get the customers. La Hacienda is a staple of the area and has been here before COVID and hopefully will be here long after.
We stopped in a few nights ago after one of the free concerts at the Town Center. When we drove up we thought they were closed. It was dark and barely any cars. That's when we remembered that the front entrance faces away from the parking lot, so we drove around to the other side, and the lot was still empty. If it wasn't for light spilling out from one of the windows, we would have left thinking they were closed. Luckily they were open.
We walked in and they sat us right away. We basically had a whole room to ourselves. It was sad seeing a once thriving place struggle so mightily.
Cesar came over to ask for our drinks and if we wanted chips and salsa. I just ordered a diet soda and my spouse got water. We also asked for chips and salsa. Then we both ordered fajitas. She got the chicken fajitas and I ordered the combo fajitas (chicken, steak, and shrimp). I asked for the steak cooked medium rare and it was perfectly cooked to my specifications. The fajitas were flavorful and had good seasoning.
Before our fajitas arrived, we were served bowls of chicken noodle soup. We weren't expecting it, but it was a really good bowl of soup. It was a nice preamble to the fajitas.
We had a great meal and will...
