This is possibly one of the worst meals that I’ve had in a restaurant. We were eager to try this and went for my birthday. I think the only thing that we all liked was the iced Horchata coffee. It ended there. One of the appetizers we ordered, the esquites, was oily. The guacamole was watery. We asked for the jalapeño peppers on the side and they said they couldn’t do that because it was already mixed in. It was premade; it was not fresh. I had the fajitas, which were the worst fajitas I ever had. They did not serve them with shredded cheese or lettuce. You had to pay extra for guacamole and sour cream, which I can understand except they gave you about a tablespoon of each. They served about a tablespoon of pico de gallo with them. The flour tortillas were stiff. There were no rice or refried beans served with them- you had to order them extra as a pricey side dish. The steak in my daughter’s steak enchiladas was dry. My son and daughter-in-law did not like their enchiladas at all. They were served with mole sauce on them (which the menu does not state) and they said the mole sauce tasted bad. I ordered the Tres Leches cake and it was saturated with caramel sauce that was so strong that it completely took away the taste of the creamy milky taste that I associate with this cake. When I got the bill, there was seven dollars of added charges. One I was aware of was the tablespoon of sour cream for the fajitas. The other six dollars must’ve been for the shredded cheese I asked for for the fajitas, however, The waitress did not tell us there would be an extra charge, and I do prefer it when they mention that. At any rate, I was not expecting a six dollar charge for that amount of cheese. They don’t do anything for birthdays, unless you order a dessert and even then they serve it to you with a candle on it and walk away. Not that I am particularly fun of the rowdy birthday songs, but it does feel more like a celebration. All in all, none of us enjoyed the meal, as a matter of fact it left...
Read moreMy friend and I decided to try this fairly new restaurant. When we were seated, we were served complimentary tortilla chips and salsa. Unfortunately, the chips were burnt. We asked our server if we could get a fresh batch, and after some time, she returned to let us know that all of the chips were like that. Surprised that they couldn’t simply make a new batch, we declined and just waited for our meals.
I ordered the birria tacos, while my friend ordered the fish tacos and a side of elote. My birria tacos arrived cold, as if they had been sitting out for a while. The meat was dry, the rice was also dry, and there was no cheese pull as expected. My friend mentioned her fish tacos were also cold.
We asked to speak with the manager, who admitted that other customers had also complained about the chips. He explained they had been made in the morning—even though we were dining around 6 p.m. If multiple guests had voiced concerns, you would think the issue would have been addressed earlier. I also mentioned my tacos being cold, and he offered to have them remade, but I declined since I don’t like sending food back. Instead, I packed them up and reheated them at home.
My friend asked if something could be taken off the bill, but instead, the manager gave us a coupon for complimentary guacamole/queso and one free taco with a $10 purchase. Honestly, it felt more like an insult than an apology. Why would we return after such a disappointing first experience?
Overall, I’d give this place a 5/10. The ambiance was nice, and our server was friendly—it wasn’t her fault—but the food quality and management response left a lot...
Read moreI’m rating this based on wait time…no chance to rate service or the food. We’ve been watching this place since it was being built and couldn’t wait to try it. Any time we’d drive past it after it opened, it always seemed packed. Great sign for a new restaurant. We waited a few months after they opened to give the restaurant a chance to get up and going. We finally had the chance to have a date night, which is rare, so we called the restaurant around 5 and asked if we needed a reservation. The hostess said they were really busy about an hour and 15 min wait. So I made a reservation for 8:15pm, munch later than we wanted, but fine. We arrived right on time. Walked in and didn’t really get greeted with a nice welcome…there were 3 ladies at the desk and all looked flustered. When I gave my name they said they were just a few minutes behind 5 maybe 10 more minutes. As more people came in, I noticed the same delay reason was told to just about everyone that came in. We noticed a really nice waiting area to the right which was full with bigger parties. So we stood by the door. 8:30 came around and I checked in and was told that it would still be another 5-10 more minutes. I guess that’s the thing they tell people. When you make a reservation you shouldn’t have to wait another 25-30 minutes after to be seated, especially when we called ahead. When we told the hostess that we were just going to leave, there was no care really. She just said “OK”. No apology for the wait, no offer for a drink while we waited or anything. What was supposed to a fun dinner date night didn’t happen and we didn’t get to...
