I've been to First Watch plenty of times including in different states. I would have rated my experience 4 stars each time but after what happened the last time I went, I have to bring it down to 1.

The wait time was short considering the restaurant was full and everything started off well. We got waters and were looking at the menu to decide on what to eat. Then came the waitress and little to my knowledge would she ruin the first half of my day.

I have some dietary restrictions, so there were things on the menu that I had questions about as well as things I did not explicitly see on the menu. I could tell from my first question she was already annoyed and answering very short or sarcastically. She went on to say "did you even read the menu" which was so rude. There are some people who cannot read a menu on their own so for her to say that was extremely insensitive. I also know that many restaurants do not always list all of the items they have on the menu so I asked in case it wasn't there. I felt so intimidated and uncomfortable with the interaction. It truly ruined my experience.

As for the food, it came out pretty quick and thankfully someone else brought it out. The food here is always good and feels healthier than eating at other breakfast places. However, it was hard to truly enjoy my meal after the experience I had with ordering it. She did come around to see how things were but you could tell she had a bad attitude all around. It's been a while since I've been out to eat at a place that makes me feel like a burden. We have made two visits so far to First Watch - both of them excellent. On opening week, we could tell they were working out some kinks, but they made extra sure to see if we were happy with our food and experience. We loved the omelettes - plenty of meaty options for my husband and delicious veggie options for me, and the light side salad and pancakes or toast that come with them were perfect. We were surprised - in a good way - to notice that the coffee they serve is the best coffee at a breakfast place we have yet to encounter in this area - and we go out to breakfast ALOT. I also splurged and got a drink from the juice bar - the watermelon mint juice was super refreshing. The second time, we brought our young kids along for a Father’s Day breakfast. We all got the Trifecta breakfast which comes with either a Belgian waffle or a big pancake, eggs, and your choice of meat. My son was delighted to find that he could choose any kind of pancake he wanted with his trifecta - so of course he ordered the chocolate chip. The waffle that came with my plate was light and fluffy, the syrup was served warm from a pour bottle that allows just the right amount of syrup to flow, the bacon cooked crisply, and all our egg orders were perfect. Coffee was excellent again, and they seem to have worked out all the kinks because our service was great despite the fact that they were really busy. Just a tip - put your name down on the waiting list on their website before you leave home! We walked right in and were seated without having to stand outside waiting with everyone else.
