Genevieve's Bridal Couture — Local services in Deer Park

I'm that bride who never get excited about going bridal shopping or have a wedding dress vision years in advance. I legit thought I would just order one online to avoid all the craziness of going to different stores & trying on different dresses. But my sister recommended for me to visit at least two bridal stores to try on dresses to see what style would look best for my body shape. I must say it's January, my fiance & I decided to just do an elopement style wedding when we travel to Dolomites Italy for our couple anniversary. That said, I only have 5 months to make sure I get everything on time.

My experience at genevieve's bridal was amazing! Booking an appointment was easy breezy. They quickly responded & advice me to visit asap due to my wedding being in 5months. Prior to my appointment, they sent me a few questions to answer online that took less than 5minutes. This let them know your budget & style of dress right away before you even step inside the store. Love that! No awkward questions were asked & just have fun trying on dresses.

They don't have a lot but they have plenty enough of dresses. I actually prefer it that way it's not overwhelming & easier to see each dresses. They try their best to keep everyone safe during this pandemic: they only allow certain number of guest you can bring, book 1-2 brides at a time + have sanitizer station right by the door.

Monika was the bridal stylist that helped me. She really made my experience less stressful. I came in not knowing what dress to try on & just let Monika & my sister pick out the dresses for me to try on. Monika was always there to help me in and out of each dresses. I truly appreciate how she would stepped out after helping me out of the fitting room to give my sister & I privacy to tall about each dresses first before stepping in to asked what I think about each dresses. Monica really listen and adjust the type of dress that I would try on next. The entire time, I did not feel overwhelmed nor pressured to buying even though I told her right from the beginning I had scheduled one more bridal shop that week. The entire experience was above & beyond my expectations. I was shock Monika found the ONE perfect dress for my mountain elopement. So by exactly 12pm, how can I not say "YES" to the dress?! And "Yay! I don't have to go to another bridal shop:D" They also email the receipt because I think I forgot to grab the paper copy they gave me.

For the purchasing, this was where I'm giving a minus star. There was a little miscommunication. Monica did tell me the dress will arrive in April, length will be as is so I would have to get it altered elsewhere & it will be extra charge for the sleeves fabric. But since she asking & adjusting how I want the sleeves + how I want the buttons to be- I thought it was either the designer or them who would put the sleeves & slit. Later that week, Maya not Monika sent me information regarding the price for the sleeve fabric. Only then did I found out about the little miscommunication. I thought I had ordered it as custom with slit and all that's why I went a little over my budget. But I completely understand specially since my wedding is in late June this year. Maya told me the dress will be pulled from inventory that will be ready to ship end of April. I order the size Monika recommended so I hope the size is perfect. I'm planning to go at the alteration they recommended. Specially now that not only do I need the length shorten, but also need them to do the slit & sleeves. If I had known I would have taken notes on how I wanted the sleeves or took a detail photo of it. No hard feelings though, I still appreciated how quickly they respond to any questions & the quality of service from booking to trying on dresses was wonderful. I would still recommended Genevieve's bridal to future brides.

I will update & post my dress later. Photos are some pretty dresses I said no to that my sister captured. They also had a sign for you to hold after & Monika was nice to offer to take a photo of my sis & I. And gave us 🍾...

I cannot recommend Genevieve's enough! This was the first bridal couture shop on my list and my first time ever shopping for a dress, so I was of course nervous and did not know what to expect. As soon as we walked in, we were promptly greeted with friendly smiles. Melanie was my bridal consultant and was OUTSTANDING. The process was extremely smooth. We immediately went to our area which was secluded and felt like our own, even with other parties in the store. Melanie let myself, my family, and herself pick out 7 dresses which I really appreciated. Some other dress shops have the consultant bring the dresses to you, which I did not like. As I continued trying on dresses, Melanie took note of what I was liking and not liking, and was amazing at adjusting to this feedback. I was between two dresses that I loved but both of them had different features that were drawing me in, so Melanie went off and found me a dress that had the features I loved from both dresses, and ultimately, that was the dress I went with. She was patient, attentive, a great listener, respectful, not pushy at all, and so easy to get along with. She felt like a friend more than a consultant.

The store itself has amazing variety and great price points. Melanie told us where all the dresses within our budget were located within the store, which made the process so much easier. The dressing room and the entire store was very well kept and had great lighting which was huge for me because my venue will be outside and the reception area of my venue has a lot of light so I wanted to see how my dress would like in natural light. The entire store has windows all around it bringing in that perfect natural light. The entire staff was attentive and gave us waters and made sure everyone was taken care of. I could not recommend it more - it was such a laid back, easy going experience for something that can typically be considered stressful and overwhelming. If you have any doubts about going here - DON'T! There are absolutely no reasons to have doubts here. You will be well taken care of, and if you get a chance to have Melanie as your consultant, you will be so very lucky!

I absolutely loved my entire experience shopping for the one at Genevieve's Bridal Couture. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed and like we had the ability to shop around the store. I felt so lucky to be styled by Monika!! She was absolutely amazing and really listened to what I wanted and was looking for with my dress. We came to the store around 3 and had been out dress shopping since 9am, so we were definitely getting tired and stressed. Monika helped make it feel stress free and let us take our time looking at different options and answering all of our questions about the dress. I had a little emotional 1 on 1 with her and she was so helpful and never made me feel judged or silly. She pulled gorgeous dresses that were exactly what I was looking for and I could tell that she knew a lot about each dress in the shop. It was so exciting to have found the dress!!! Monika was so sweet and let me take as much time as I needed in it before making the decision, even with the store getting ready to close. We even had time to facetime my aunt and grandma, and 2 of my bridesmaids who couldn't be there and did not feel rushed. Monkia even put on "Love Story" by Taylor Swift as we want to play that song during the ceremony so that was sooooo sweet and special. We ended the day with a champagne toast and got the iconic I SAID YES TO THE DRESS picture by the blue door :))

I decided I needed to come back 2 days later to re-try on my dress as I was having some second thoughts. The dress I went with was a bit different than what I was envisioning, but it was truly perfect!! Monika was so kind when I called and reassured me that it was okay. She let my mom and I come in alone to re-try the dress on and get more time in it. I was so grateful that she was so understanding and helpful. She gave us space and as much time as we needed. She even took more photos and a video of me in the dress so we could see it more on film which was awesome!! She also clipped the front so I could see the full effect of the back. She helped me feel more secure in my decision and when I put the dress back on I fell in love with it again. Overall, it was a wonderful shopping experience and I can not WAIT to go pick her up...
