Trying this spot for the first time. We got carry out after filling up on Kroger gas. Since I always enjoy trying out Mediterranean spots for Gyros & Shwarmas, I saw the new sign while filling up next door. My son & I walked in to check out the menus (displayed on over head tvs). Place was nice & clean. The customer service was excellent & welcoming. While waiting for our order, one of the gentlemen kindly gave us a sample of lentil soup & fried pita squares. He did the same for another couple that just ordered carry out after us. The lentil soup was delicious & flavorful. I will definitely order a cup or bowl next time I go.
We got home, 5 minutes away where wife & daughter were waiting.
Dish 1 was my son's plain cheesesteak (meat & cheese only... picky kid). It was OK. My son commented it was like eating a re-heated sandwich.
Dish 2 was a chicken shwarma. I didn't expect the pickles on there, but my daughter liked it. I assume it was cooked with curry based on what my wife said. Overall not bad, but not a 5 compared to other chicken shwarmas I have had (see my other reviews).
Dish 3 gyro wrap. Sliced right for my liking. Almost the same as an Arby's gyro, which isn't bad. Enough proportions of meat to vegetable to size of pita.
Dish 4 chicken wings. My wife said she liked them the best of what we had ordered. Deep fried & breaded chicken wings. My already ate 3 before I could get a picture of them.
Side order of large fries. They were ok. Compared to other Mediterranean restaurants fries, my expectations are higher.
Overall, we will go again, maybe the whole family to dine in. An overall 4.5 because the people seemed great, food was pretty good, price is good & not overpriced (so there is value for what you get). But not a 5 when compared to the place(s) I give a 5 or wish I could...
Read moreRecently moved to the northern Cincinnati area and was desperate for some Hummus. Luckily, God placed this GEM right around the corner from me. This is a family owned restaurant that has EXTREMELY friendly and welcoming staff! I’ve been so many times, they know me by name and always ask about my kids when I come without them. I mainly order carryout, and they help me with the door since my orders are typically large. I love the Arab hospitality and the warm welcoming that I recieve when I go.
When I eat Mediterranean I mainly eat vegan or vegetarian. My favorite are the lentil soup - veery flavorful and fresh, hummus - creamy, lemony, and garlicky (just as it’s suppose to be), Greek fries- crispy, and savory, and my Favorite is the FALAFEL. This isn’t any ordinary falafel, it has many herbs and spices, and is the most unique I’ve tasted thus far. The outside is crispy yet inside is flavorful and soft. I truly love the falafel sandwich, I order it the majority of the time bc it’s vegan, and very fulfilling.
Tip: dip the pieces of falafel IN the hummus. It’s the traditional way, and you won’t be sorry 😋!
If I do choose to eat meat so far the beef shawarma and the regular and spicy gyro are my go tos.
Overall, for what I enjoy to eat from Mediterranean cuisine everything has been great. Lovely family, respectful and welcoming staff. If you haven’t been, I recommend you come to try. You won’t be sorry and you’ll be supporting a local family owned business. On top of that, the menu is diverse ranging from Healthy to unhealthy. In my opinion, the falafel sandwich and the Greek fries together is a beautiful combination. It has the best of both worlds- healthy and healthy-ISH. Now, that’s what I call life style balance. 😅

Read moreBest Gyro in Cincinnati by a mile!
I've lived in Cincinnati for 10 years and I've eaten at hundreds of restaurants. Decided to check this place out after seeing it across the street from Skip's Bagel Deli. So glad we stopped in because Lentils is my new favorite restaurant.
My wife got the Lentils platter with gyro meat, chicken shawarma, and a side of falafel. I had the gyro wrap with fries. Everything was phenomenal. The food was fresh, hot, and seasoned to perfection.
We were surprised when the owner gave us some lentil soup made from his father's recipe accompanied by homemade croutons that blew our socks off. We knew then we were in for a treat.
The fries were crispy on the outside with fluffy interiors and sprinkled with a lovely seasoning that gave them some zip.
The gyro meat was so tender and flavorful paired with the homemade tzatziki sauce. The rice was bright yellow from what I'm assuming was saffron.
The Greek salad was light, crisp, and exquisitely dressed, balancing out the heavier fries and meat. The falafel was the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp exterior with a bright green fluffy interior jammed with fresh herbs.
My 5 year old is typically a picky eater so we were assuming she was going to eat some fries and nothing else but she tried everything and loved it all.
We got everything for around $40 after tip. Our previous favorite Mediterranean place, Phoenician Taverna, won multiple best of the city awards but Lentils has them outclassed in terms of flavor, value for the money, and convenience. Can't recommend this...
