i have never posted a review before but after the way david jones treated myself and my fiance i wanted to make our experience known so that who ever reads this doesn't have to deal with what we had to. The 2 star review below this is my fiance and i want to address the response from the owner because he wont take responsibility for his or his employees screw ups. he states that we changed our fabric and color in less than 4 months but i am staring at my original receipt for the deposit which is when all decisions were finalized and that was dated 1/26/18.
The reason my fabric had to change was because the first time my tux came in they ordered it as a regular fit and not as a slim fit as we had discussed the whole time so they had to re-order in a brand that made slim fit. The reason he says my color changed was because the second time it came in it was the color of my groomsman tuxes and not the color we agreed upon when i put my deposit down. He states that he can't get a hold of us because we don't return calls? Jokes, he is the one that doesn't return calls. when his employee called me asking when would be the best time for david to reach me i gave him a time i would be free after work and i never received a call. then when i was trying to figure out my ushers pants i called david and he was more concerned about telling me about how my fiances review was inaccurate and needed to be removed than helping me. he told my usher he would call them back but didn't do that until few days before wedding, and by then we had already made other plans for my ushers. (oh yes before i forget i want to add how unprofessional he was with me over the phone, calling me a jerk for my fiance writing a bad review and i wouldn't talk to her to take it down).
so anyways i picked up my suit for the third time on 6/20/18 (because i have the receipt in front of me for proof) and it was correct. except that he forgot i wanted a certain designed white undershirt and he had ready for me a plain white one. after this there was no time because i left for military training and just got back today and my wedding is tomorrow.
Also i want people to know what kind of person david is, if you ever talk to him he will make sure to tell you how many 5 star reviews he has. well i know how he gets them because he did it to my groomsmen and my dad. he gave them a discount for writing a 5 star review before leaving his store. my groomsman told me he wouldn't give the discount until his review was to davids satisfaction. so after reading this if you still choose to use this store just know you're choosing a man who gives discounts for 5 star reviews and not discounts to people who he has made mistakes for. and he tries to bully you into removing a bad review and doesnt take credit for his own mistakes and tries to tell the customer how its their fault it got messed up.
david, im sure you will see this and try to make some reply to defend yourself or maybe you can actually go the honorable direction and acknowledge the fact that you and your employees screwed it all up and prove me wrong about your character as a...
Read moreThe entire front desk of the store is a chaotic mess and the racks that hold suits that were ordered in for groups, such as weddings, are so horribly organized that staff have trouble finding what they need. We spent a handful of minutes waiting for David to find paperwork for the wedding party we were a part of because it was all piled on a counter. Once we were sized up, staff let us know that they would call us when the suits came in so we could come to the store for a second fitting to see what alterations/tailoring needed to be done. We waited and waited and never received a call. Two weeks before the wedding we were concerned, so called in to see where they were at. Turns out the suits had come in three days prior and we were never notified. We went in to see what alterations needed to be done, the suit fit great and just the pants needed to be shortened. Two weeks later, the day before the wedding, I went in to pick up the suit for my fiancé. After waiting a handful of minutes while staff frantically looked through the racks looking for the suit I needed I was told that the pants had not been tailored yet and they didn’t even have marks on them at the length they needed to be tailored at. I was told that they would hold on to them until my fiancé could come in and try them on again to be marked. I let them know this was not possible as we lived out of town and the wedding was the next day. I asked if the pants could be tailored at the length of the out seam they had on file. Rightfully so, staff wanted to confirm with the owner that this was okay and I was told I would receive a phone call back with the answer, as I had other errands to run and was leaving the store. I waited for two hours without a phone call back, finally called back myself three times before I got an answer. I was told by staff that they could hem them and I can come in a pick them up in the next half hour. I arrived at the store in that time frame only to be told that they would be hemmed once my fiancé came in to try them on again. I let them know that I needed them now, and if they could not be hemmed I would take them and do it myself. I was told by the owner “then be my guest” as he held them out to me. I think he tried to save the situation quickly and proceeded to mark and then hem he pants. I have worked in retail almost my whole life and understand a mistake here and there, they happen. But the level of disorganization, unprofessionalism, and mistake after mistake was very disconcerting. We were later told that we were not the only ones in the wedding party with problems like these which is why I want everyone to know this situation before they spend almost $300 on a suit. The suit does fit very nice, and staff knows what looks good on men I will give them that, but they really need to step up their...
Read moreI had an absolutely amazing wedding, no thanks to David Jones Fashions. The groomsmen’s suits were my only headache throughout all of the planning, and let me tell you, it was a HUGE headache. We saw this business at a wedding show and decided to go with them after reading his Google reviews. He must pay people to give him good reviews because holy cow what a nightmare working with this business was! We initially met with David to discuss our options and he set up a groomsman suit and groom’s suit example for us when we told him what we were looking for, to see what they looked like, and we liked exactly what we had picked out that night. We signed a contract that night and all details were written down on that sheet of paper. From that night on, the nightmare began. First initial red flag was the way he treated my groomsmen during the first fitting. He was incredibly rude, and talked down to one of my groomsmen because he didn’t know the “proper” way to put on a suit jacket. He watched his TV the entire time and seemed more interested in the news than our fitting appointment. Next red flag, David told us he would call our groomsmen who live across the country to get their measurements. That never happened. They had to call him, and they had to call multiple times because David was either “too busy” or the person couldn’t find our contract. He also said he’d get their measurements and have their suits shipped to them. Well a few weeks before our wedding our groomsman who lives in Alaska still hadn’t had his suit. I called and demanded to talk to David after he had ghosted my husband multiple times when he had tried calling. David talked down to me the entire time, telling me that I don’t know how the process works, blah blah blah. He never once apologized for how wishy washy he’s been this entire time and telling us one thing and doing another. All he cared about was me not giving him a bad review on Google. He literally said 3 times during our phone call that I shouldn’t give him a bad review on Google. The suit got sent that day after I told David how disappointed I was with his business practices (according to David, so take that for what it’s worth) and my groomsman did get his suit, but was then pressured to find a place for alterations where he was, in just a few short days before he flew out for our wedding. Oh and the cherry on the top, after all of this commotion and ghosting, he gives all of my groomsmen the WRONG COLOR TIE. So the tie didn’t match the bridesmaids dresses like the one I had originally picked out. What a mess. I tell everyone I know that I wouldn’t ever recommend this business. Trust me, go literally...
