I’ve had previous experiences at this starbucks location that definitely were a tad annoying but that’s just because I feel like they hire a bunch of new people that are still learning — which is fine. But the experience I had the other day was just uncalled for completely unnecessary.
I pull up to the drive thru menu and am greeted very nicely and normally. I say my order (grande iced caramel macchiato with light ice) and the employee replys “is that all?” with a sorta nasty undertone. I say “Yes” and she tells me to “pull up” - again with a bit of an attitude.
I think it’s a mistake—maybe this is how she talks. It’s fine. I pull up to the window and am not greeted at all. In fact my existence is barely acknowledged. I hadn’t been to this starbucks location in a while and wasn’t prepared for the measures they took during the global pandemic we are currently experiencing. So with the card reader facing me and a glass pane between us the employee says “That’ll be $5.11”. She doesn’t look at me and continues staring behind her (talking to her coworkers I assume.) I’m not sure what the protocol is.
My plan was to pay with the app, but with the lack of greeting and card reader in front of me, I got nervous and began looking for my debit card in my wallet. I had a gift card loaded into the app but was too scared and nervous to ask if I could still pay with the app. So I put my card in the reader and, without saying anything, the employee hands me a straw and then my drink. She still doesn’t look at me or offer any kind of human decency. The card reader starts beeping, and my anxiety is already kinda high and I’m scared she’s gonna say something mean to me if I touch my card too soon, so I let it beep and wait for her to tell me to take it out. She never does. Twenty seconds later, I just pull it out and wait for a response. She shouts “Thank you” into distance and walks away.
I felt so small and guilty for ordering from this location. I don’t know if the employee had been having a bad day or just had a rude interaction with a different customer. All I know is that they closed in two hours and I didn’t seen anyone else in the drive thru and the employee was rude to me.
Sorry for being a Karen and writing an entire essay about my experience, but to the girl with wavy/curly light golden/brownish hair that was pulled up into a messy bun with a long sleeve white shirt, I hope your day got better and no one treated you the way...
Read moreI hate that this is the most convenient location for me, because the service is horrible! Sadly, I keep submitting myself to their rudeness because I have an addiction to macchiatos, but I'm tempted to cross the street and go to Scooters and find something I like there. I would just do mobile order, but on more than one occasion I have gotten to work and my order was wrong. I have called them to inform them, but ironically, for one such instance when I returned for my free drink, they got that wrong too. I confronted the barista, who insisted that the drink was right (it had the wrong milk -- I watched her make it!), and offered to remake it, but I declined because I had already waited over 10 minutes! There was only one person who ordered ahead of me, mind you. And forget about the drive-through. There's no way out once you're in line, and you're looking at a 15-20 minute wait if there's more than 1 car ahead of you. They just can't seem to get their act together and move cars...
Read moreI used to like going to this Starbucks, but this time I don't feel as if I was being treated right. As my friend and I went through the drive through, I asked for a medium green tea frappuccino with extra whip cream, he repeated "a what green tea frappuccino?" And we replied "medium". When we got to the window, he gave us my friends order and gave me a medium green tea cappuccino. I said from the passenger seat, "I'm sorry, I ordered a green tea frappuccino.." and before I could say with whip cream he shut the door and put the cup down and left. He then came back with a small green tea frappuccino with no whip cream at all.. I'm really unhappy with my experience this time. He was very rude about it. I was going to go back inside, but my friend was too scared to go so she drove off and I didnt get a chance to get the drink I wanted. I'm glad I got a green tea frappuccino, but I'm really upset that I had to pay for a medium green tea cappuccino but received a small GT...
