I have shopped at this Meijer since it opened in 2009, and in that time I have NEVER had a bad customer service experience. Today I did. First of all, why Meijer thought it was a good idea to do away with the self check out lanes is beyond me, and it's obvious the cashiers who are working them have a bad attitude about doing so. Today I had Peggy as my cashier, and it was very obvious she either hates her job, hates customers or needs to be working in the back somewhere. She had to make crappy comments about me putting my big bag of cat food on the belt, put on a huge show of grunting and throwing it on the carousel, and then when I had an issue with my card (it was a gift card) she spoke loud enough for the customers behind me to hear 'INSUFFICIENT FUNDS!' When I explained I intended to pay the remainder with another card, she snipply had to make more comments about it. And then, when she found out I had pushed the button to have my receipt delivered digitally, unbelievably she had to make a comment about THAT. Hey Peggy, I get it. Life's hard and we all gotta work, sometimes when we're not feeling our best or when we just don't want to. But you are way old enough to know you DON'T TAKE IT OUT ON THE CUSTOMER. You are representing the store, especially as a cashier, so keep it professional. Thank God for Patty, the sweet greeter, telling me 'Thank you for shopping at Meijer and have...
Read moreReview about East Broad St location. On 1-2-2025 my check out experience was a cashier bagger and head cashier engaged in heavy personal conversation. They missed my 6 foot self standing first in line with my purchases on the belt. Had to ask for service. All looked at me as if I were an intrusion.
Never asked if I found what I wanted. Never asked for my M perks number. Never a thanks. When I commented on the poor service and asked how they would like to be treated as such the two workers did not comment and the head cashier said if it happened to her she’d not care.
A purchase done at the same East Broad store in Columbus gave similar results on Saturday the 11th.
Cashier was laying across the belt reading here phone intently. Didn’t seem to pleased when I put my purchases on the belt. Kept phone handy all the time. At one point I had my back to her while I processed my M perks and card she never asked about. Nothing was completing on the credit machine. Turn around and again she is laying across the belt reading the phone.
Went to pharmacy for a pick up. Rich the pharmacist greeted me. Engaged in conversation and had my pick up read and check out was fast and good
Frankly I seldom shop the rest of the store due to my the high out of stock situations. General mess and one feels dirty after...
