La Matraca Mexican Grill and Cantina — Restaurant in Delaware

I had high hopes for this place based on reviews, but clearly no one around here has had good mexican food. This has to be some of the worst I've ever had. My son had the kids chicken burrito. My daughter had a hot dog(whatever lol) my wife had a burrito and enchilada combo and i had the special dinner. The special dinner says it comes with a taco, burrito, chalupa, and chile rellano. Figured id get a choice between beef steak and chicken but no its ground beef. Comes to the table and instead of a chalupa i get a bean tostada? The ground beef tasted like it was from one of those 99 cent packages at the store. The chile rellano had ground beef in it? Never have i ever had a chile rellano with ground beef. Even asked my hispanic buddies and they have never heard of it. The taco sucked, hard shell with lettuce and a sprinkle of cheese. The salsa was tomato puree. I HATE wasting food, and I couldn't even finish this sad excuse of "mexican" food. On a positive note the place is really cool, and they have some pretty fancy drinks so it may be worth visiting for that. The service was pretty good very friendly people. The food took forever to get to my table, they put red sauce when I asked for NO RED SAUCE, all the waiters and waitresses had headsets on talking into them with the manager which is probably why he didn't hear the correct drink or cheese dip,the manager and then our waiter brought me the wrong order twice,drinks are SOO overpriced but that seems to be the only thing they cared about getting to yo, the service was slow and we had someone bring us our chips and refills which wasn't our waiter OR the "chip girl" if I could leave a zero star report I would. I work in the restaurant industry so I get people can have bad days. But to see the manager walking around the dining room and still having to wait so long for our food to come out which we asked about after 45 mins of waiting and no given time about food then it comes out and it's wrong and was told make sure you tip your server but we only saw our server twice. FINALLY an authentic Mexican Restaurant with FLAVOR! My family loves Mexican food and we've been to plenty of places that are just so bland. But not La Matraca! Even the rice and beans were amazing. They know how to do it right! Don't ever change what you're doing in the kitchen guys because we will be back for sure! The staff was so friendly and the decor was beautiful! Everything we ordered was great and the prices are reasonable too. I ordered the steak Fajita chimichanga and the caramelization on onions was incredible. My aunt ordered the chili relleno and she said it was the best she's had in a long time. My step son got the Polo Loco and LOVED it!
