I spent over $1k on trees and plants late last summer and had to pull hairs to get any kind of customer service from this store. Attitude came easily though. I had to have bad trees exchanged and large tree exchanged. I received my "rewards* balance with a gift card of $15 today. It's just the cherry on top. It should have been at least $80 I tried to get them to scan that stupid card at every exchange but they said " no we don't need it "so they managed to return everything on it and not for the repurchase. It a enough to have to wait 30+ minutes on hot days to have someone pushed who had no idea what they were doing to wait another 20 min for someone else to then only be left with an email address to resolve the issues in store. You do have one incredibly competent employee in that store and I hope he's seen. He was so good everytime he helped me out other customers. I wish I knew his name. Aside from your POS issues, and you staff attitude issues, your plant infestations and high prices I'd totally recommend this nursery. Please please please train your associates on how to properly pass a customer on to the right management when needed and your management on how to handle a disgruntled customer. Use your mistakes as a training opportunity rather than being upset you had to deal with the situation that someone caused in your store via miscommunication and improper training at store level. The frustration usually stems from a store level for the customer not themselves. The average now just doesn't know that. Hopefully you don't have to come dig up those 3 sad trees you sold me for over $800 that had issues. Put your $15 reward dollars toward training....

I wanted to talk with one of the staff about a type of plant I was interested in buying. There was a set of plants that was withered and one of them looked rather healthy. I wanted to know why the others were withered and if the healthy plant would run the risk. After being told by a staff member to wait at the customer service desk for the "expert of the department", I over heard the same staff member mentioning to another that the person I was waiting for wasn't in. 15 minutes later I asked a passing staff member about my situation and she finally informed me the "expert" wouldn't be in today. She did ask if she could be of assistance but when I asked her my questions she said I should look on google... Unfortunately for me I decided to buy the healthy looking plant.
My second and last interaction with this establishment, came when I tried to return the plant I had purchased a day before. Over night the plant I bought had withered like the others. When I spoke with one of the staff about returning it, they said they wouldn't refund but they could exchange for the same plant type. I then explained what I had previously saw and that they should probably take the plants entirely off display and figure out what was wrong with them. The staff member started accusing me of not knowing what to do with plants and refused to give me a refund.

Read moreI have shopped at Oakland nursery since they opened but will never shop there again I went there on a Sunday early morning I bought 117.00 worth of stuff this trip I love spending time in there planting things in my mind meeting new people I even helped a young lady pick out plantsfur her home I was there 3 and half hours came to the registrar and as the young lady was ringing my things up I seen a very small sign said we are NOT taking cash only credit cards I thought I read it wrong I read it againnope it was right NO CASH so I asked the lady to tally it up I'll be back with it on my card I had to go to the bank put money on my card I was not happy I had to leave there go to the bank and come back so I asked for a small free plant the manager said no so I thought that wasn't nice I went out of my way I came from mount gilead I don't even live in Delaware so I told then forget it I didn't even want their plants and I talked to another lady in there and she had cash only also no signs were on the doors just at the registrar's oh well I plan on taking my business back to Wilson's in Newark Ohio much bigger and better also kid friendlyTHANKS OAKLAND NURSERY FOR THE EYE OPENER 😷 ohhh and by the way if your so worried about the covid 19 then why dont you have your have your employees wear face mask and gloves money has always...
