This Asian market is really close to my house. It seems like a family that runs the shop. I wish there was more of a selection, but they have the more important items. I sometimes come here for specific drinks or snacks, and if I find them not there, they might be seasonal or they ran out.
The vegetable selection is great! I usually get beef bones here as well. One time, I got some bean sprouts (second to last one on the refrigerator shelf). One of the ladies who came to replenish the bean sprouts bags replaced my older sprout bag with a newer one. We did not speak the same language well, but it was a "Is this okay?" look from her while she was slowly grabbing my old sprout bag from my cart, an accepting nod from me, and then she put in the new bag. I very much appreciate it, and they're very kind here.
By the way, they do have sort of a homemade food system here. They're making soups and meals in the back and then they put it on the shelf near the counter. I finally tried some of the vermicelli noodles with tofu, and it was tasty! I want to try some of the...
Read moreSmall Vietnamese grocery shop stocked with most Viet ingredients you're looking for! There is a small selection of rare cuts of meats and organs --often must-need-ingredients for some dishes. Fresh fruits and veggies, typically in good condition. Once we picked up their last bag of bean sprouts, and the owner rushed over to switch us to a new, fresh batch delivered that day (totally unprompted. She was still working on bagging them up). Great selection of fresh Viet herbs which are difficult to find in other places such as Thai basil, garlic chives, culantro, cilantro, Viet fish mint, peppermint, spearmint, perilla, Viet coriander, lemongrass, and rice paddy mint. There's also a small section of frozen food and seafood as well as canned goods, spices, noodles, and other dried goods. Staff speak Vietnamese and English well and are super nice! They are always happy to help you find anything. My family and I live an hour away but make the trip out to stock up on...
Read moreGreat little family owned shop. They aren’t as big as some other international food stores in the area and may not have everything, but they have A LOT, and anything they don’t have they make up by having a welcoming and helpful attitude. Super nice family that has always been willing to show me things or help me find what I’m looking for and do it with a smile. This is one of those family run places that is worth a visit even if you are just going for a couple of groceries and cooking supplies. I find I often stop in even just to grab some Ramen or one of the daily lunch’s they make....
